Planning on flushing my fuel system with acetone to clean out enormous amounts of varnish flakes that have graced my tank with their presence.

Anyone got any ideas on where to buy some?

I'm thinking a litre and a half is enought to fill the fuel lines and pump and I can slosh it about in the tank.

    Hi there
I stand to be corrected but is acetone safe to be used on rubber pipes and rubber seals? You might shift the varnish but end up ruining rubber pipes/o-rings/seals,etc?

    regards

Acetone or propanone is the active ingredient in nail varnish remover, why not try seafoam or another type of fuel sytem cleaner. It will be better then acetone
