Did SAF concede the title today?

    Did I say that? No

But Fergie did say that this was our worst defeat in his footballing years.

So I don't think people are over reacting.

We need Rio out and a ball winner in midfield to compete.

Mark my words we will get a hiding off a team in the Champions League with that central midfield

It was a **** ****ing day, but there is reasons for it, and the title isn't decided today.

    What your language son.

The title isn't decided but it gives us an idea of where we stand.

In second place, and if we plan on playing the rest of our games with ten men then maybe I'd be worried about todays performance.

We were great until their goal against the run of play.

    So everything is perfect so?

You really are very blind. Our central midfield is in a mess and Rio and Evans are a liability.

Its amazing how many fellow UTD fans really don't have a clue about football.

And getting some of your buddies ot back you up on here is pathetic

What's pathetic is your superiority complex over your fellow United fans and sports fans in general

We were grand until their goal against the run of play, wouldn't say great. Had 70% possession in first 20 mins but didn't do much with it. City contained us very well...which I suppose is handy enough when you recognise that once the wingers are stopped we have no quality in midfield, and Yaya pretty much stopped Rooney when he dropped back.
They were just trying to park the proverbial bus and hit us on the break. At least 8 defending players in the City box any time a United attack mounted. Luckily for City, the whole spine of our team were shaky at best. Evans, Ferdinand and a midfield that just didnt cut it, and so they got their goal against the run of play. Then enter Jonny Evans and exit stage right any solidity at the back.

Reread my comment. I am not claiming to know anything - just giving my opinion., While others on here deem their opinion to be right always.

Even as seen above to know more about UTD than Fergie.

If there were no foreign fans, there would be no Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal, at least not to the degree of size they are now I would imagine 99% of there merchandise is purchased by them.

Nobodys claiming that - people are making their opinions known and you're jumping on them (at least that's how I'm reading it) - it's a discussion forum get used to it

It's hilarious, also, right, Greater Manchester has a population of 2.6 million, and the team has 100+ million fans easily. I dont think they'd all fit in Manchester.

Or liverpool for that matter, Liverpool metropolitan area is about a million people and they certainly have more than a million fans worldwide!

i suppose apart from the 3.8 million people in total there, none of them have any right to support united, liverpool, etc. and are therefore not real fans? do me a favour...

Great ,yet didnt have a shot on target in that period ?
Utd were poor today all over the pitch ,it was a bad day at the office and a bad defeat for the team was coming ,they have been ****e for the last 5 weeks.
Struggling against Basle ,Norwich and some Romanian team etc .

The core strength of the team over the last few years has been defence,Van Der Sar and Vidic were immense, and Ferdinand and Evra were good too .
It was on this base that results were achieved despite the lack of creativity and technical ability in central midfield.
The defence is creaking now,Van Der Sar is gone ,Vidic and Ferdinand are suffering constant injuries and Evra is a shadow of himself.
The central midfield is poor, and has been for the last 3-4 years yet Ferguson has done nothing to address the issue .
Midfield is where most matches are won and Utd have been overun in most big matches .
Ferguson has tried to pack the midfield ,playing 4-5-1 to neutralise superior midfields ,he knows he cant take them on in an open game .
That needs to change ,Utd need quality in central midfield ,2 players that are comfortable on the ball, good passers, good engine and creative.
Andersen is not good enough ,neither is Carrick.

I dont see how Ferguson can regard the result as his worst ever ,there have been alot worse performances in his tenure .

It must also be worth noting City have a much tougher fixture list between now and January ,Utd have an easy run after next weekends match away to Everton ,11 winnable matches until Jan 21.
City have to play Chelsea ,Arsenal and Liverpool twice in the same period.

This result could be the best thing for the team ,who limited as they are should overtake City by the new year.

There have been many worse performances but what else can he say after watching his side get beaten 6-1 at home by their city rivals? It's unprecedented. United will get over this, as they always do, but it's a real shocker for them and Fergie's comments are only reflecting this.

Bit early, United don't have 61 titles yet.

Of course you can be a 'real fan'. You can follow any team anywhere in the world. You don't have to live in the country or city where they play their home matches and, of course you don't even have to set foot in the ground - ever.
You can put 'our', 'we', 'us' into every sentence you use referring to 'your' club. What harm are you doing?
This by-product of globalisation personally leaves me cold as an experience and so when one team of millionaires beats another 6-1 in a city I've never been in I can only wonder as to why anyone would criticise, say, a Londoner who chooses to follow Man Utd.

As a United fan, I'm worried. Not just by the result today, but City really have changed things around.
Last season people complained about their boring over-defensive style vs the big teams. In comes Aguero (in my opinion the best addition to the Premiership since Ronaldo), a rejuvenated Silva, Balotelli, Dzeko to name a few and they've become some force up front, their defense is again as solid as last season. Hart, Kompany and Lescott had to do anything today, Clichy and Richards were great, the latter immense.

United really need a bit of outside luck, because City don't look like they're slowing down any time soon.

The only thing about City I can't understand, is after watching that display today, why have they been mediocre in the Champions League, so far?

Because they haven't played against a team that went down to ten men, had a poor midfield, and then gave up.

They were the much better team before the sending off.
