Hello , I've recently got back into cycling and I'm using google my tracks to record my routes.
I was wondering if anyone had any trouble using their paticular phone for recording as I'm due a new phone soon and I don't want to get a bogey one.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum ,but it's cycling I use this paticular programme for.

    Thanks.:)

I use MyTracks on a HTC Wildfire. I find it quite good, though it sometimes loses the GPS signal or takes a few minutes to pick it up when you start recording a ride. It's probably not as accurate as a Garmin or the like, but I think that's more to do with the hardware than the app you're using.

Any of the apps will let you export a gpx file which you can upload to Strava, MapMyRide etc, though some probably make it easier than others.

I'm using runkeeper.com, I did have mytracks but found it a bit buggy.

The ones that work for me are: SportTracksLive, Sports Tracker, Endomondo

Strava I have found to occassionally drop out GPS signal and the timings on it don't match well with my cycle computers whereas the others match it much better.

imapmyride is a disaster of an app on my phone and my brothers. It barely ever records the full route even when other apps do on exactly the same ride.

I like the feature in Endomondo where you can create your own circuits of your area etc
