Indicators making a clicking noise (2005 Octavia)

I drive an old model 05 Octavia and I'm getting seriously stressed out with a constant clicking noise from the indicators. I don't know if it's common problem with this model Octavia but from talking to a couple of mechanics I have gotten two different reasons as to why it's happening.
The first guy I spoke to told me I need to replace the hazard light switch. The second guy told me I need to change the relay. I thought I might try here for a third opinion (to confirm one or the other) before I go spending money on parts.

It's been coming and going now for the last month but only in the last two days it's getting worse and getting on my nerves.

The sound is a faster clicking than the usual indicator noise. Sometimes if I indicate left or right or hit the hazard lights it might stop, other times not.

Any ideas?
