Sink or swim implies to me it is time to perform or get out of the club. Maybe that isn't what you meant, but it was how I picked it up. Wanting him to step up is fine, saying he has to step or or be cast a side is a little foolish at this early stage of his city career.

Can see how it come across, but I'm not saying throw him out. I just don't want to see him coast along. I want to see him get involved more.

However my mate was at Liverpool v Utd last year where Pool fans chanted it throughout game before smashing up seats and toilets.

Yea its always the Liverpool fans. Utd fans wouldn't dream of carrying on like that

correct me if i am wrong but didnt city officals not lay a wreath at the munich plane crash site when they played bayern recently? think i read that somewhere....

ok and? the club has and will always conducted themselves like any club would do, with grace and dignity.

the fans should take a leaf out of the clubs book. its getting worse and worse every year.

and the ironic thing is, a man who played over 500 times for city, was also killed in that crash. the city fans on here may know his name, but not alot do.

how f*cking sad. would you see united singing about a tragedy in which one of their own died? i would think not somehow.

seems to me like some city fans memory only goes back about 4 years and they need a history lesson.

Sink or swim time you say? I think he's been excellent for you so far, nearly sure he's set up a bagful of goals along with scoring one? I think you're talking out of your arse.

I'm talking about actually on the field input, not pundit or newspaper stats. If you have been watching him play you can't say he has been an impact player for City. The fact is this is City's first big test. We haven't played anyone yet, whereas Utd have Chelsea and Pool over. (And Arsenal but I don't think that can be counted).

City have some of the best and most loyal supporters out there.

Do we have idiots? Of course and like Trilla says, every club has that element, but you're just talking nonsense here about the majority of City support. Also, I covered how I felt about the chant last page.

didnt take long for liverpool to be involved.

this is the united v city thread, i dont see why you or the person you are responding to, need to bring liverpool into a game thats nothing to do with them.

im sure there will be many liverpool fans paying more attention to the result on sunday than their own game on saturday, hoping for a city win.

and for what its worth, liverpool fans trashed the east tier 2 stand in old trafford last year, i hope their allocation gets cut this year like the stunts being pulled by them last weekend.

anyway, no need for liverpool talk, this is united v city, the real derby and the biggest rivalry right now in english football.

there will be war at this game, i can just feel it.

Haha. Both Utd and City were lucky to have played them amid the Modric saga, no Ade and no from. Not to mention right after the Riots!

i didnt start the conversation. i suggest you read back throught the pages.

its now a huge talking point of every united v city game and its getting worse, so why cant we talk about it, seen as somebody brought it up?

or we just ignore it and brush it under the carpet? maybe you can spend a few million and it will go away...

Why is chanting about a tragedy in which a former player died any worse then chanting about any other tragedy?

You continuously try to paint this picture of the Utd fans being beyond reproach in their behaviour, while it seems its only Liverpool, City and Leeds fans who would partake in chants about these tragedy's. There's a minority of Utd fans, as their are City, Liverpool and Leeds fans who are all guilty of this behaviour. Your attempts to take any sort of moral highground are laughable

The reason I had Barry starting in the OP is because he didn't start on Tuesday and Mancini seems to really like him. And I couldn't see him leaving Yaya or De Jong on the bench.

I thought Dzeko has been poor enough recently and hadn't scored in a while, that's why I had Aguero, Silva and Nasri up front, although Balotelli for Nasri would sound about right.

i said its sad that a clubs fans do this, its ignorence to the highest extreme and doesnt look good for city fans. and when i say its getting worse, i mean the munich taunts are getting bigger and more vocal.

after all, it was ya ya toure who put the ball in the munich net wasnt it? or will we pretend 3000 fans didnt sing that and it was only a "few idiots" as people say.

this is the united v city match thread, what goes on between liverpool, leeds and united fans has nothing to do with city. city fans dont sing about munich cos of what happens in other games, they sing it cos they want to and they are ignorent....just like bolton do every year we go to the reebok...

and the munich v hillsborough problems in the united v liverpool games, have virtually disappeared ,the past 10 years. they still exist a little but rarely in the public eye.

I didn't bring Liverpool into it, I just responded to a daft generalisation made by the previous poster

I don't think Liverpool fans will be paying more attention to this then our own game, but certainly there will be a massive interest given its a top of the table clash

Regarding cheering for City, well I'm actually up for Utd as I have more respect for how Utd have achieved their status then I do City

To say there should be no talk of Liverpool in this thread, then complain about the Liverpool fans behaviour, before reiterating your stance on no Liverpool talk in this thread is a bit daft tbf, obviously people are going to respond to that

I'm not for a second claiming Liverpool fans are always the best behaved, the fact is that their are a minority of dicks amongst the support. But this is true of any club, and to suggest otherwise as you seem to be doing is just blinkered

City to roll over as usual for United .... united to win by 2 goals..

Still don't think this is relevant in here. Chanting like that, as well as racism are a seperate discussion to a thread about the match. Also the longer this goes on the more frustrating and annoying it is going to get. You are persistantly using the term City Fans, clearly meaning all of us. I have never sang the chant, neither have any of my mates at any of the games. You are saying it is getting worse every year, yet I still haven't heard it at any of the games. If you want to rant set up a thread about it and leave it out of here.

city wont be rolling over 'as usual' for anyone. the truth is in recent seasons there has been very little between the teams. cant see that changing on sunday.

I'm just hoping its not going to be a repeat of Eastlands last season. It was hyped up so much that the game was so disappointing. I just want a cracking game with a great atmosphere, come what may of the score. (Obviously would be pleasing to get the bonus of a City win :) )

Think this has got DRAW written all over it.

City to take a first half lead. Utd to get the equaliser in second half.

You heard it here first! ;)

People saying it will be amazing if Balotelli doesn't play.. didnt Dzeko score 5 goals in three games or close to it and was dropped for two games after it? Facts a bit hazy there sorry

He was rested against Wigan, I think as he had played for Bosnia in the Internationals, that was part of the reasoning.

You don't really rest a player that's in the middle of a hot streak like that though, especially a player that was struggling beforehand, it was odd enough.
