What exactly are the British Broadcasting Corporation about so? And why well done Mr Whyte? He seems like an absolute chancer to me.

    This is true.

In fairness I don't think the BBC are that stupid to put on a TV show making those kinds of allegations without evidence.

Says who? A corporation which seems to have pissed off so many people left right and centre. Alex Ferguson, Harry Redknapp, Ally McCoist and now Craig Whyte. And a lot of that is based on non facts and pure speculation.

People saying Mr Whyte is a chancer have no evidence to suggest he is a chancer or a conman.

Craig Whyte has started legal proceedings against the BBC.

In fairness, if you read about some of the things he's been up in court over then this wouldnt surprise you.

It was very surprising at the time that none of the Scottish Media were printing the things he was up in court over in his past when the due diligence and fit and proper persons stage were being done.

This though is a complete different matter and if the BBC's allegations are found to be untrue Whyte will take them to the cleaners.

BBC business editor Douglas Fraser has tweeted that Whyte will sue the BBC over this.

    And rightly so.
No wonder we stopped all cooperation with them.

So the BBC are this wonderful news organisation would someone care to tell me why they have already had to apologise to Rangers after admitting to deliberately editing film to make it look as though McCoist was laughing at Sectarianism or various other things they have done over the last couple of years

Also, BBC Scotland is on a whole different level than BBC World, for example.
It's a bunch of inept journalists with an agenda, and I for one hope Whyte destroys them in court.

I know some people want to put the cart before the horse but lets wait and get the full facts. It does no one any good coming onto this thread and spouting utter bulls*it which might not be true.

Seems Craig Whyte will sue the BBC.

A spokesman for Craig Whyte said: "Craig Whyte strenuously refutes these unfounded and defamatory allegations and has instructed his lawyers, Carter Ruck, to commence immediate legal proceedings against the BBC. Any repetition of these false accusations will also be met with legal action."

Looks like this is a major story in both the News and Sport sections over on BBC, and it looks like it was a government body who named Whyte as being involved in this.

    from the article -
The firm was investigated by the UK government's Insolvency Service - the agency that probes corrupt business practice.

Robert Burns, head of investigations at the agency, said: "We took the view that the company was being controlled, or certainly had the involvement of, an individual who was disqualified. That raised concerns."

When asked who that individual was, he said: "I'm talking about Craig Whyte, who had been disqualified as a director in June 2000, for seven years.

"We found a number of suggestions, and indeed evidence, that he was in some way, shape or form, behind the company. For example he was signatory to the bank account, he was giving instructions to certain payments."

    Was he found guilty

No because he fled the UK at the time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,226 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

So they have 'evidence' which is 11 years old, and never led to any punishment.

Nice one BBC, way to set yourself up for the fall.

edit: And now he fled the country ? He didn't just decide to live somewhere else, but fled the country... Any proof of that ?

Did you not read that article? A chancer would be putting it mildly I'd say.
