Restaurants in Belfast on a Sunday night?

    I'm looking for some recommendations for somewhere to eat on a Sunday night. I've booked Mourne's for Saturday, but it seems that most restaurants in Belfast are closed on a Sunday, which I find really odd.

    If anyone could recommend a decent place to eat, it'd be much appreciated.

    Sunday is different in terms of trading hours for retail compared to the Republic and lots of things don't open at all on Sundays - some restaurants included! Have you a preference for type of food and budget?

    I'd recommend restaurant No.27 on Talbot Street in the cathderal quarter. Great restaurant, with a superb menu and a cracking atmosphere, and great staff.

    Thanks for the replies.. 27 Talbot Street doesn't open on Sundays from what I can see, though it does look good (cheers anyway Pocket Rocket!).

    I'm not too fussed about the price or type of food, once it's not asian (my missus is having a spice aversion at the minute!)... so anything else would suit. James Street South looks pretty good from what I've read - had a look at Cayenne, but the menu really didn't float my boat.

    Hmmm..!

    Living in Dublin & not from Belfast, but I have eaten in Benedicts restaurant (part of the hotel) on Sundays in the past. Lovely food.

    I ate in Made in Belfast (http://www.madeinbelfastni.com/) last Sunday and now I'm recommending it to everyone :D Portions were very big so prices not too overboard considering. I had beef strogonoff and the bf had lamb, both really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful but not overbearing so we could spend a lot of time at our meal. Good options on the menu and the specials board, and good drinks choices too.....there's two of these in Belfast, I was at the one next to the cathedral, finished just in time to have a wee drink round the corner at the Spaniard or John Hewitt (live music on Sunday nights) :cool:

    +1 on Made in Belfast, it's the best! Not fancy schmancy dining but not a greasy spoon cafe either. Good food with great atmosphere, def worth a look.
