Updating existing website

My friend has asked me to update his website, it's fairly outdated. I have experience in Wordpress but always used the one click install on to the domain.

Can anyone tell me how I would override his existing site and upload a wordpress cms? I have all his ftp settings.

you'll need access to create a database on his web hosting package but other than that it's as simple as following the guide above and downloading the code.

Cool, thanks for that. Should be starting it next week and hopefully I wont run into too many problems.
