And look at the time of the goal. That's United on the brain that is...

I don't think it will, if you recall the rock that SAF was for Beckham back in 1998. He protected him from the flak that was coming from all quarters. I have no doubt SAF will do what is necessary to protect Rooney and keep him focused.

thing is that happened at the tournament, this is going to rumble on until they are knocked out/win it,every time England have a friendly and roo is in the Bahamas with the mrs it will re-surface,if they struggle in games it will be "if only rooney hadn't been so stupid"
i hope im wrong and he takes it out on the field starting this weekend but we have seen the way things get to him before.

Phil Thompson and Paddy Crerand on Newstalk now about tomorrow's match.

Paddy saying Liverpool's match against UTD is the pool's ''Cup Final''.. :D

Has there been a press conference this morning yet?

    Any news on injuries?

That's a bit cheeky now. He annoys the bejaysus out of me. One thing I will say on this is that I know plenty of pool fans (especially in work) that have come out with the line "I don't care what we do as long as we beat them c*nts".

I think true Pool fans beating United is only a bonus and nothing more

Fergie said everyone is fit apart from Rafael and cleverley :(

main points from Sir Alex's press conference:

    * Everybody returned from the international break fit. The only question mark ahead of the Liverpool game is Nemanja Vidic, who played for Serbia in midweek. "He was out for a month but came back yesterday and felt okay."

    * Everybody else is fit, apart from Tom Cleverley and Rafael (who began training this week).

    * Sir Alex says tomorrow's game is "massive" and says "all the players are looking forward to it". "For me, the Liverpool game is still the biggest fixture on the calendar."

    * On Liverpool's title chances: "Four or five teams will challenge for the title and you always have to include Liverpool in that."

Not surprising tbh. Most of our last year academy players are promoted to reserves level, so the team must be very young.

Didn't see the line up but a few of the names mentioned are Jacob, McCullough, Blackett, Ekangemene, Daehli, Hendrie...

We appear to be playing one up top so it's disappointing to be losing the midfield battle.

    Daehli is tiny!

Yep! And it's only Januzaj's second game IIRC...

No it's live on LFC TV which is free if you have Sky...

Hopefully Daehli fills out as he gets older. He gets pushed off the ball so easily. On the contrary, Blackett is so tall and strong!

In fairness lads we are in the exact same position. Most of our u18's players have moved on or to reserve level and the only player from midfield or attack in the team today who played with the U18's last year is Adam Morgan.

The worst I have heard is:

"I would sooner beat United home and away each year than win the league".

No word of a lie. Every club has them. It just seems to be more evident in the United v Liverpool rivalry.

Never heard it from a United fan, hand on heart!

Slightly off topic, anyone regulars of this thread get sorted with home tickets for the Estonia match yet?

I have a mate who hates Liverpool more than he loves United. He is an absolute embarrassment to be around when there is a United Pool game, its gotten to the stage where I dont go to the pub with the lads on the day of the game because he is such a numpty to be around.
