Hey basically have a 99 Polo that failed its NCT there last week. Have put about 500 euro into the car already but still having problems with a play in the steering wheel.(That was the main issue off the list of things it failed). Now ive been told it needs a steering Column which for part + repair would cost 200,and then there is the rest of the issues for it to pass the nct.

Now I've seen ones on adverts going for around 650 with nct due or gone.Would it be worth paying the money to get it fixed and hope to sell it for close to a 900+ or cash in on it now.

Basically if it was in grand condition bar the play in the steering wheel how much it be valued at roughly ?

*Sorry if this is more suited for the General motors thread

I'd check with the scrap yards for a used steering column. Make sure they offer a guarantee. Are you sure it is the st. column and not the rack?
