I know United won the league I just found it ironic that the poster proceeded to slag off Benitez then quotes a picture of a game in which Liverpool beat United 4-1

Nothing ironic at all Liverpool won the battle, but United won the war and twas only a bit of good humour, no need to have a kitten over it.

If I was Capello I would still take Rooney.

I have seen pundits say they will need to take 5 strikers instead of 4 now, but I would still stick with 4.

Rooney, Welbeck, Carrol, Bent (for example).

If the plan was to play Rooney off one of the other strikers, I would just play either Welbeck or Young in that role instead.

Gerrard could do it as well.

As a quasi-England supporter, I want to see Rooney there, no matter how much I dislike his personality/mentality, provided his form will justify it.

Just glad Rooney does not have play West Ham. I still remember the abuse Beckham got after World Cup in 98 there.

While I don't think it be like that this time i still think you have fans blaming Rooneys for England's chances now, you wait and see.

It'd be too risky to only take 4, a few injuries and it's a makeshift strikeforce and no options on the bench. 3 games is incredibly harsh for the offence.

said the same on Twitter myself re. Gerrard.

I see no reason not to bring him. I actually don't think there are players good enough to actually make a good fist of the argument. Though a player like Sturidge could change that.

The FA have no grounds for an appeal as far as I'm concerned, they banned Rooney for two games before for a far lesser offense.

And lol at Capello not bringing him to the Euros at all, of course he will. England **should** have more than enough to get out of the group without him, and then they will need Rooney in the knockouts if they are to even stand the slimmest chance of winning it.

What Capello did say, is that he won't be starting Rooney in any of the friendlies between now and the Euros, and I'd imagine he won't play any part in a few of them. That suits United perfectly, and as Kev said he'll have three less games to play in the Summer, which again suits us just fine.

Will he get stick G.K. or am I talking ****e?

Can see lot blame going to him but I could be out. Nothing major but ye England always have scapegoat, if you dont mind me saying?

I hope they appeal and lose. Get an extra match thrown on for good measure. Make Capello leave him behind entirely. Fook England, As far as I am concerned the less gameshe plays for them the better.

Lots of blame will inevitably come to him, but it's England, lots of the country are idiots. Makes me happy to be Welsh more than English.

Doesn't happen like that with UEFA.

If you're going on form welbeck takes carrols place

Different type of players so id say carroll is more likely to be selected to go

Rules are different for international football though and going by previous precedents set by UEFA, a two game ban would have been about right. It was the kind of kick you'd aim at a friend in game of five a side, stupid but not dangerous.

I see the Emperor is quite content where he is at right now..
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15283737.stm.

He is in pretty good nick and wouldn't 75 be a nice age to go at. I can't ever see the man losing his hunger, I think the kids drive him on. Looking at how many teams he has built and rebuilt, he's definitely unequaled in that department. I wouldn't be surprised if he died in the job (Hopefully 25 years from now). So overall it's pretty disturbing news for other clubs.

Not strictly Utd news but Jack Marshall passed away today :(

    Lifes not very fair :(:(

    http://www.twitlonger.com/show/dk0t16

    http://www.jacksfund.co.uk/
At 11am this morning (Thursday 13th October) the world changed forever. Covered in his beloved Man Utd blanket and snuggled in Tracey’s arms, Jack decided that in true Manchester United fashion “He’d do what he wants” for the final time and passed away peacefully with us, his family, at his side. He is now laid on his bed at our side, dressed in his Man Utd kit, with Snowman and Meerkat laying with him. We are all devastated, but take comfort in the fact that Jack lived life to the full right up to the very end. We are so very proud of Jack and the way he dealt with his disease, with a smile and a glint in his eye. Thank you, everyone of #jacksarmy for all your help and support so far. #RIPJackamoWELOVEYOUxx

the ban is fair enough he deserved it,but apart from him playing fewer games in the summer i cant see anything else that is good for us,this will have a huge affect on him he has let his country down,he wears his country colours with pride whether you(we) like it or not,it will be in the back of his mind until the euro's are over and if they dont get out of the group you all no who's fault it will be,i hope he can show more maturity now but i think this is going to have a huge detrimental affect on him.

I don't think it will, if you recall the rock that SAF was for Beckham back in 1998. He protected him from the flak that was coming from all quarters. I have no doubt SAF will do what is necessary to protect Rooney and keep him focused.
