Over 50 'Blue Bottle' flies in window, suspicious?

Passing a house opposite the Library in Navan, and noticed many many blue bottle flies in the front window. Just seems odd to me. The top window had the small top pane of glass missing.

I just thought straight away "dead body!" Maybe the house is derelict I don't know. It's not often you would see so many in a window.

I'd need to get very, very drunk. :)

So much so I would say I'd even be up for an adventure up to Navan with a bottle of ketchup for 'blue bottle surprise' - the surprise is the crunch!

    No smell.

A few spiders hanging around looking to get in.

Don't know where or when I saw/heard it, but there was one of those UK council waste control guys talking about a serious case of a hoarder/dirtbag, the kind you see on TV where the owner is being shouted at by two old ladies while a team of cleaners polish it top-to-bottom.

So he said that they rocked up to this house and rang the doorbell. No answer. Walked around to the sitting room window, but they couldn't see through it, couldn't see a thing cos the window was so dirty. So he knocks on the window, and it basically comes to life. Thousands of blue bottles that had been covering the window go flying off, swarming around the sitting room.

OP, I'd be inclined to maybe ask in the library if they know what the story is with the house. For all you know, someone may actually be dead in there but nobody's raised the alarm.

Through in a handful of big spiders...problem solved!

    ON a serious note.....

Same thing happened to me whilst visiting my mother in-law's.
A house down the road from her had loadsa flies in the windows.
Mentioned it to the said mother in-law, who said she hadn't seen her
very elderly neighbor in quite some time.
I phoned the local garda station and met a garda at the house.
One piece of plastic bottle later and we're in the front door
( Boy in blue showed me that trick !)
Flies everywhere and an awful smell in the hall.
Me being the big-brave boyo, decides to wait outside and let
Mr.Garda do his job. Out he comes a minute later , looking very green.....
    You guessed it.......
No one at home, but rubbish bags piled high in the house !!
Turns out the old dear was carted off to hospital weeks beforehand in the
middle of the night so no one knew, and in the meantime,
squatters had gone in the back window and were leaving a mess inside.

So, moral of the story, Call the cops, could be a body !!:o

    Mr.W.

Do a knick-knack on the door, then hide and see if someone answers.
