Have you ever bought a concert ticket outside the venue?

Paid £100 (100 punts!!) outside the Olympia to get into A House's final gig in 1997, would have paid twice that in fairness..

No. I did however sell an extra Waterboys ticket that I once had, outside the gig, for the face value. It was a good feeling.

I was supposed to be going to some one day festival called The Lovebox in Marley Park a couple of years ago.
In the morning while waiting to head out to it I got sh1tfaced in the Foggy Dew. I decided that staying there for the day was going to be more fun so I went outside and flogged my ticket to a random student dude for 10euro, the ticket was worth 70. :o
God be with the days when I had money to be pissing away like that.

I'm gonna buy 4 tickets tomorrow morning for the Paul McCartney concert, at the Liverpool Arena in december = 2 x £55 tickets and 2 x £100 tickets .

The two £55 are for moi ...the £100 ones are for Ebay = highest bidder

I'm ultra honest that way =

Some posters said their tickets were lost/stolen and they ended up buying from touts. If you do lose tickets you can get the tickets stopped/replaced if you have the credit card details used to book the tickets. I've done this at marley park 2 years ago. I had to get the person who paid for the tickets, to phone in with their credit card details.

Buy tickets the whole time on All Ireland day (ok, not a gig but w/e). Touts will sell at face value close to the off regardless of the event (unless you want to see the minor game or supporting bands); it's better to make nothing at all than to make a loss. The hunt for tickets is all part of the thrill so even if ya don't get any it's all worth it :P

only twice. Once for a smashing pumpkins gig in 1996 and paid about 20 quid over the amount.

Ouch. That was the one that was called off halfway through because of the poor girl who was killed, wasn't it?

I ended up with a spare ticket to a sold-out Owen Pallett/ Final Fantasy show at the last minute a few years ago and figured I'd give it away outside the venue.

Turns out it's almost impossible to actually give a ticket away, everybody assumes you're trying to lure them into a van or something.

We did eventually get to give it away, but only by asking folks if they wanted to buy it and then giving it away. It was all very Curb Your Enthusiasm.
