Anyone know where I'd hire a yurt in Ireland?
Have looked on line but all seems to be english companies.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I've just had my wedding venue fall through, I'm looking for a field as such near the meath /fingal area to "rent" for a wedding to put a marquee on.

If anyone can help or point in a direction that would be great.

    Thanks
    A

I'm going to stay in a yurt this weekend (very excited :D) as a glamping weekend. You could get in touch with the people who run the place I'm going to and ask them if you could rent theirs or if they could put you in touch with someone you could rent from.

Happy to help:) For what its worth, when I made the booking, the guy I spoke to (he runs the family farm) came across as really nice so if thats worth anything.
I can post back here after the weekend if you want and let you know what I thought of the yurt and the people who run the glamping there. Who knows, maybe you'll even end up having your wedding there and use the yurt in his field! .......................now I need to leave and stop organising other people's lives:o

Mike and Suzie at Carraig Dulra should be able to sort you out with a yurt.
I've stayed in their biggest yurt or 'gher' in Wicklow, and they have smaller ones too.
I think they've got somebody taking care of delivery and setup this year, but worth asking them for contact details.

We got married in Meath 7 years ago, and used Pelican Promotions in Louth for our Marquee etc. Carpet, dancefloor, chandeliers and a Jungle Gym in a trailer to keep the younger kids amused for the day. They also put us in touch with suppliers for absolutely everything else we needed.
I recommend them highly. They had a good range of sizes. We'd over 200 at our wedding comfortably including kids, and I've been in a bigger marquee they had at Tattersals this year.

We arranged with a local publican to bring his off-license down for the night to cover serving alcohol as we got married at home.
He ran out of drink at 11 and had to send a jeep back up to the pub for a fresh load, so I think he did better than he would have selling a few bottles at closing time.
Pelican had a portable bar available, though we ended up building our own. Essential to sort that bit out well in advance!
