paypal have disabled my account because my credit card expired on the 30th september and i didnt put the new details in until the 7th october,

they have basically told me tough ****, there is nothing they can do about it
After investigation, I found out that when you initially added this card to your profile on 08 December 2008, our system was unable to verify your card's billing address. However, you were still given a last chance to use your card until it was automatically removed from your PayPal account on 07 October as you failed to update its expiry date.

I have tried to re-enable your card; however, I am unable to override the system.

can this be correct? i am sure it is but i cant believe it - i have had a palpal account forever.

is it over now ? is this really the end of me shopping online. i dont go in to normal shops, if it cannot be bought online, i have to live without it :(:(

i have no interest in messing around with 3v cards

Could you not just set up a new paypal account? I've done this before after my paypal account got locked for entering too many credit cards (3v vouchers )

they said the card number has been blacklisted, so i would have thought that even if i set up a new account, i would have the same problem

Could you phone your CC company and say you lost your card? Then get a new one and use that on a new account

That's happened to me before. On expiry, I was unable to update the new expiry date, so I had to remove my card and then re-attach it. This worked the first time, but on the next expiry when it once again wouldn't let me update the new date it black listed that credit card number when I tried to remove and re-add it again.

Nothing Paypal can/will do here, they've blocked the card permanently. Your only way back on is to get a new credit card number (not just a new card).

so far, i have been told by <snip> that they cannot do anything, i then asked to speak to a supervisior and he changed his story to, well if you email some other department, they will unblock it.

I then got an email from <snip> to say she had re-activated it.

i then got an email from <snip> who told the card could not be unblocked but if i faxed her a copy of my passport and credit card statement she could unblocked it

and i have now got an email from <snip> to say they cannot unlock the card.

so now i am very concerned about why they wanted a copy of my passport - were they trying to steal my indentity

When I had received €600 into my account in the space of about 6 months they asked me for copies of my passport, bills, etc. It's just routine, definitely not to steal your identity. Not sure why they would refuse to unblock it though as you sent them everything they asked. The only thing I can suggest is that you report your CC as lost, they will send you a new one. Google has info on how to make a second account without them noticing your old one. I doubt I'm allowed share it on here but a search should provide you the details you need.

it not as simple as that, if report my card stolen, the new card will still have the number plus that card it linked to loads of other sites, accounts and Direct Debits.

i really dont understand why they email me yesterday morning stating if i send them my passport they will unlock the card but then this morning (before i faxed them my passport) a different person sent me an email saying there is nothing they can do.
