    No thread?

I'll leave someone else do the fancy graphics and say no more other than I'll be there cheering the lads on regardless of Traps tactics or teamsheet. 270 mins from a major championship: come on the boys in green!

If it stays 0-0 then grand ...

if we get one goal ? ... shut up shop and put 11 men behind the ball /freeze Armania out .

But if 0-0 don't go kamakzi in dying minutes , leaving nobody in defence .

As the Meerkats say '' simple'' ;)

Why would we "go kamikaze"? We only need a draw.

Is there a possibility we can get automatic second place qualification ,if we win and portugal score a few vs denmark

Have to laugh at that - could never imagine ireland going kamikaze under Trap. I'd say he'd have a stroke if you translated the meaning of it into Italian for him.

Trap was a the very one to look back at our previous horror shows and notice that when ever trying to hold onto a win ,draw or go for result ,the irish defence was absent ie, ball lobbed over into the Irish half ...bang ....game over :p

No chance of qualifying as best second place team I'm afraid.

A win would most likely see us seeded for the play offs. A draw would very possibly (depending on results elsewhere) see us unseeded.

We score first and we wont lose the game, if Armenia get the first we could struggle to get back into it.

That's the catch 22 , we'll have to come out of defence if we go a goal down and even at 0-0 there's that worry of conceding late ...

I abhor playing for a draw. It's silly and anyone can score with a minute to go if they put enough effort in.

We need to score. Multiple times, preferably. Either way I'm putting a tenner on Armenia @4/1, that way if we do lose my anger will be short-lived. ;)

I don't see our clean sheet run continuing, but I do see us getting the required result. 1-1 or 2-1.

I also expect a few funny new Dunphy-isms by the end of the night :)

Nah, people are seriously overestimating Armenia. Whilst they have looked good and have been ever improving, they've been in their comfort zone for most of this campaign having played virtually all their games in Eastern Europe.

It's the first time they've really had to travel this far and it'll be a new experience for a relatively young side. It won't be anything like the matches they've played recently. Against Slovakia, Russia and Macedonia, they've been involved in games where technical ability takes centre stage.

We won't let that happen tonight and we will inject a lot more grit and discipline into the game than those nations did. Technical ability will still play it's part of course, but just not to the same extent.

I can see Ireland using their experience and home advantage to control this game and win 2-0.

    heading to it.

    Armenia?

    fúck off.

you've only existed 20 years or something, you can't be that good can you? ;):pac:

Hard one to predict ,if it was not on an knife edge we could win by at by least 2 or 3 goals but I think we will get the draw ...as long as the Irish defence doesn't get to jittery .
