Commuting from Booterstown to Dundalk

Looks like I'll be working a bit in Dundalk and I don't drive.

What's my best public/private transport option to get from near UCD (on the N11 side) to Dundalk town.

I had thought Dart from Booterstown station to Connolly. Then commuter train.

This option combined takes c. 2 hrs. Plus I hear the train station in Dundalk is a bit out of the town, so the walk in would more add time to my commute.

    Any other options?

Dundalk Station is in the middle of the town.

The Enterprise is much quicker than the commuter trains, at around 55 mins from Connolly to Dundalk.

The train takes less than 90 minutes from Booterstown if you connect into the Enterprise (no difference in price) - you can get a through ticket.

Bus Eireann 100X from Wilton Terrace (Leeson Street Bridge) is probably the handiest alternative to the train - although it's still 2 hours.

Also Matthews Coaches from Parnell Street to Dundalk, although this is more suited to passengers travelling in the opposite direction.

You can get monthly/annual tickets via the Taxsaver scheme (www.taxsaver.ie) if the employer participates in the scheme for both Bus Eireann and Iarnrod Eireann, while Matthews have their own scheme.
