Help with research question

Hi all,

I am currently doing the MLIS programme and have a research question to do. The question is "How many wars and serious conflicts are there in South America today?". I have checked the library but didn't find anything relevant. I also spent hours yesterday surfing the web but again didn't find any accurate information that I can use. Does anybody know of any websites or anywhere where I can possibly find information to help me answer this question. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you should go on a country by country basis, and search the most relevant news sources for each one individually.

I don't mean to offend you OP, but isn't this defeating the point of the assignment? Librarians are supposed to be able to find information. Asking somebody on Boards is hardly doing that.

Ah yes but cheating once in a while never hurt anybody did it?:D You do have a point though but it was an act of sheer desperation on my part but thankfully I managed to find the answer by myself in the end so there's hope for me yet as a librarian:). Anyway thank you both for your help.

Well hopefully they won't know who I am:D. Just to be on the safe side I'll use my own sources for this assignment even if they might be more unreliable:p.
