Ah, god be with the days, you'd get them at any market or car boot sale in the country a month before Hallowe'en, Clara Market in Co Offaly or Ballinasloe Horse Fair were my faves :D not sure how easy or hard it is to find them now but it was no hassle when I was buying them 10 or 11 years ago.

    Moore Street in Dublin.

I suppose for some people that IS "up north" :D

Thing is up here in recent years one has only been able to purchase fireworks legally if they have a licence (£30 and only available to over 18's) and while such requirements have only slightly mitigated the nuisance/danger caused by fireworks it seems to be a far bigger problem in the Republic (especially Dublin).

What's worst is the bastards who use them to hurt animals. I literally hope that these people blow their fingers off or set themselves on fire, that'd be a nice bit of justice.

Some of them need to have a banger shoved up their hole, see how "fun" they are then

    LOL

I don't understand why they don't just legalise them and gather the tax revenue and some measure of control over them.

But I know, the poor crims will be out of pocket,

    A stupid country at times.

now tell me what you would do to protect your family temptamperu?

    We need - THE CITIZEN

Not long now, the sun will set and nightfall will be upon us...

While many of you prepare your costumes and trick or treats, I prepare for battle and combat. This is the busiest day of the year for the Fire Brigade, Emergency Services and the cops. They will have their hands full dealing with various incidents throughout the country. If you are reading this scumbags, consider it a warning. This is the night I have been preparing for. This is the night that the skills I recently acquired in the North Pole and the deserts of Africa, will be tested. This is the night that justice will be served. This is the night that the city can sleep in peace. Scumbags, I will be patrolling the streets of the city, keeping a watchful eye over the people. Justice will be served.

Yeah, scaring the cr4p out of animals and old people, tieing them to animals, throwing them under cars and through letter boxes, keeping people awake all night. What have we to be grouchy at?

Had the same problem right beside my house bangers being chucked everywere. I just went out to them in a non threatening mannor and told them a bull**** story about the baby being sick and that they were keeping her awake. They were being a bit **** at the start but after a min of me being decent to them they moved on and havent seen them for a week.
So stop being a bitch about it and ask them to move on in a nice way and 9 times out of 10 they'll move on.

im sure old people are used to them, tieing them to animals is unacceptable behaviour though and i hope im sure it dosent happen too often.
And babys? well they are known to be awake in the middle of the night, I dont want to deal with that though so i choose not to bring children into the world.
    They are only fireworks relax.

Normally I'd say anyone any thing that does that to an animal deserves a bullet between their two eyes, but this being Hallowe'en we should burn them at the stake.

So people who are thinking about having a family should say"actually do you know what love I don't like fireworks so I don't think we should have kids"....obviously you choose not to bring kids into the world because you would need a person from the opposite sex to do it with, but seeing as how you don't really know how families work then you d better stick to palm and her five sisters

The days after the ploughing match would usually be the first sign of them around ;)

I honestly don't know why they aren't legalised like they are in most European countries and even in many of the US states. It would ensure the standard of the stuff being sold and generate a bit of revenue for the tax man.

I really think the obsession with them for kids is purely that they are illegal and that is a lot of the attraction.

I think a sensible law like selling to over 18s etc would really be the way to go. Its pointless banning things like fireworks in all fairness. Used properly and responsibly they are extremely safe.
