    Beautiful!

Any idea if the casing was bleached with Retrobright? My A1200 came looking brand spanking new like that and I cannot figure out how it was kept so clean and white.

No, don't think retr0brite was used.
It's just in good condition and was well looked after over its life.

Could be that commodore used the 'fire hazard' polymer rather than the flame retardant polymers that other companies use. It's the additives that make the polymers falme retardant that cause yellowing.

That's the thing, yellowing really has nothing to do with how well it was looked after. (excluding the likes of niccotine).

Steve_SI's one was obviously well looked after, as it's in great condition. But You could get another white computer kept in the same condition and it would look as yellow as pissed in snow.

I guess it's the same scenario as yellowing Super Nintendos. Different batches were made with different plastic mixtures.

Anyway, I'm going slightly OT, sorry.

Steve_SI, you going to upgrade that at all? Or will she be left as is? I couldn't recommend those solid state HDDs enough. They're really fantastic.

    Like mine. :D

I've a Super AAA+ Premium Deluxe Memorial Densha De Go 64 R Grade Super Famicom Go! Go!. Fully boxed, not a crease or scratch on it and it's not yellowed at all.

Looks exactly as it did when it left the production line I think. Odd. I'll check the numbers on the unit and try and find out more information.

Yeah, I have a solid state in one of my Amiga 1200's and its the business, wireless internet as well.

I'd need to change the kickstart chip in this A600 to allow it to see the larger drives so I might just leave it. I've got a memory upgrade on the way for it so that will do it for the moment I think.

I must say it looks really well hooked up to my Commodore monitor. Great picture quality on that thing for its age.

I've got an EasyADF PCMCIA Compact Flash Transfer Kit here that should work with the A600 as well so I can play around with that until I get the rest of my Amiga kit brought up from home.

You have a wireless adapter for your A1200? excellent! I take it that must be in some fancy tower system rather than a standard pc in a keyboard unit?

Ah I see you can get PCMCIA wireless cards for it. I did not know that. Not too expensive either.

Yeah, that looks like the one I have. It's just in a normal A1200.

I also have this but never use it:

I've been spending quite a bit of money recently on shelving for my games, so haven't picked up much in the last couple of weeks. I did find a new copy of Kirby: Mouse Attacks for the DS in GAME today marked as "pre-owned". Nintendo seems to be selling off some of its unsold stock to GAME and HMV recently to be sold on as second hand. I've seen Wario and Star Fox for the DS recently for example.

Picked up Kirby and really enjoyed it this evening when I gave it a bash. Lovely colourful fluffy platforming!

I also won an auction for a excellent condition copy of Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition for the Mega Drive this afternoon. I got it for €1.13 but the chap wants €7 for postage, even though he's in Ireland... I'm not going to grumble as the game is well worth the €8 I'll be putting towards getting it.

Its the first Mega Drive game I've bought in ages. My Mega Drive 2 doesn't output any sound these days apart from a really bad "interference" sound - you know the kind when you put on a telly with no signal going into it? Really annoying and I can't get it to work normally for me. Anyone got any suggestions as to how to fix it? The graphics come out fine and its connected to the telly with an RF cable.

The dodgy sound won't stop me playing this excellent title anyway. I love Turbo on the SNES so I really wanted to try this on Sega's system.

Get ris of the RF cable and get a scart one!

I normally would but I'm wondering if there's any point - the motherboard or whatver its called inside might be effed.

I'll probably buy a Mega Drive 1 at some point as I want a Mega CD 1 some day. They look the business together!

    I don't remember that because I wasn't a shmuck that bought a 32X.

... Actually I really wanted one. I'll have to thanks the parents later for telling me it was a waste of money.

I'd EXACTLY the same problem with one of my megadrive IIs , an AV cable off ebay for a fiver(inc postage) later its working with full sound. So the problem is probably something on the RF modulator itself.
you could make one yourself if you're handy with a soldering iron (I made a megadrive 1 cable myself last week) , but tbh its nearly cheaper to just buy one. If you want you can pay more and go RGB , but its your call.

An RGB Megadrive cable costs so little that using anything else is just silly :p

    Megadrive 2 RGB €12 delivered -

I got Star Fox Command for €12 brand new with Nintendo wrapping on it unopened with a re-play HMV sticker on it last week. Didnt want to open it lol. Its an ok game, havent really given it my full attention just yet. Got it in HMV Henry St.

Which HMV shop did you get that Kirby DS game? How much was it? Think I want a copy. Is it any good?

Oh and is Wario any use?

Seem to be getting back into DS games as of late, due to there being no 3ds games atm. They look great on the 3ds screen too!

HMV have been doing a lot of 'Newsed' games lately. Got might and magic clash of heroes brand new but marked as used there for 8 euro.

    Few bits arrived today.

CD32 games(just extra copies of the games as I already have these but the price was right):

    dsc5345a.jpg

And not game related but definitely retro:

    dsc5336j.jpg

    Left to right(for those interested):
Kodak Brownie Six 20 Model C camera, Coronet Twelve 20 camera, Kodak Brownie Clockwork Cine Camera, Bolex C8 Clockwork Cine Camera.
All in perfect working order despite their age.

Just starting collecting vintage cameras recently but I have a feeling its going to get expensive, very expensive.
