The most important thing about success is knowing to quit while your ahead. Someone should have told that to the producers of the show a good decade ago

The business isn't recession proof, so they're simply passing down their drop in income to the voiceover actors, just imagine the outcry if they gave the cleaners a 45% pay cut!

The Simpsons is as creatively vibrant as ever

    hahahahahahaha! :D

The Simpsons ended creatively last century FFS.

If i see a new episode on, i just turn over. Dont bother with it as they are not funny anymore.
Home just turned into a whinger and whineing all the time.

Up until around season 9 was the best show ever. Not now.

And its not the fact that we just grew out of it or anything. Id still watch an old episode, even tho ive seen them all numerous times!

Stonecutters ep is one of the best!

That's the funniest line the Simpson's producers have come up with in about a decade.

I think up to season 13 they had some creative brilliance and after it lost it's mojo.

I hope it finishes soon, I really want to buy the box set!

    Who's cares?

The sh!te episode far outweigh the good at this stage.

I've tried over the last few years to watch the new episodes but when ever I put them on I always loose interest before the end of the ep. There just doesn't seem to be any humour in the episodes anymore. Pack it in now and be done with it.

They should age the Characters, put Lisa in College and Bart......somewhere.

    Change it up abit.

They won't take the risk, because the're happy for it to limp on as a cash cow.

I am surprised the Simpsons hasn't ended its TV show to just make movies every 3-4 years.

The first came out in 2007 and was clearly a success. The only logical reason I can see why virtually anything is still going is because its been making money.

Dont think they could do that. Fans would hear about it and it'll likely put more people off from watching the show.

If they're still watching after about 13 terrible years and jumping a whole school of sharks, then nothing will turn them off.

The simpson hasn't been good since 97/98. I'd say it was at it's peak around 1994.

They should open it up and make the Springfield show that was rumoured a few years ago. It would be good to see what they would do if they didn't have to stick to the one family all the time.

Fox are seriously in denial about the standard of Simspons episodes in the 5 years, and are hanging on to it for dear life, because they're too lazy to have to find a replacement for it.

Really, would anyone notice if they stopped making The Simpsons?

It's always on television, there's about 20 years worth of reruns and anything made in the last five or six years has been rubbish.

After the Clown College episode (probably the funniest 24 minutes of TV) it was all downhill.

The Simpsons still pulls in over 5 million viewers on average, only Family Guy gets higher numbers. Obviously this is nowhere near what they got in the early days, but it's still a very respectable number. That, plus the syndication, DVD and merchandise money it pulls in, will secure it's future until a voice actor leaves or dies. I reckon Fox are just trying to pull a fast one.

Should have finished 10 years ago. It was on it's way down when they brought out Futurama, and only got worse. I haven't watched a new episode in a long, long time. Just switch channel when I see it's new. It's utter shíte and has been for ages

The Simpsons has had a great run - I loved it in the 90s - but in the past 5 years or so the imagination and energy has run out.

Time for the Simpsons to call it a day methinks.

it went a bit stale about 10 years ago, and then brought out that absolutely awful movie. Since then it has just been full of crap jokes (usually bad puns) and its about time it gave up.

Shame about Phil Hartman and the characters he voiced!:(

I agree with a series of Springfield stories or even an aged simpsons. Make them teenagers and get up to all sorts of crap.

I don't buy that the new episodes add much to the syndication and merchandising value to be perfectly honest.

Simpsons have been sh!t for many a year, about time they put it out to pasture.

    Fox would.

It should be put out of it's misery. I remember a time when I would know all the episodes and start laughing at jokes that were coming up before they even happened. Now I can barely raise a smile at the later ones.

    Show has gone to crap!

I still watch it but only if it is an episode from the 90s, possibly some of the most genius comic writing ever. Those episodes are absolute classics and its a tragedy what the show has become.

I get excited when I read the info for an episode and its an old one, if i havent a clue what theyre on about then i know its a new one an dont bother with it.
