Buying from Amazon.com will I have to pay duty

I was going to buy a pair of shoes from Amazon in the US, I have tried up and low down to get um this side of the pond and can't. Will I have to pay taxes upon them coming into the country?

i THINK amazon charge you the customs at checkout ,
