There isn't a whole load of the new PP ones out there. Although, I think the old points one would be just as handy, you just have to convert the PP but at least they are still low point recipes.

I have 3 old point recipe books, and to be honest, apart from 1, they are pretty crap. And there was only a few recipes I liked in that one. I love recipes that take hardly any ingredients because I buy what I need to cook with so if a recipe calls for 50g of X, and it only comes in 200g, I ended up wasting a lot of food.

yeah i dont mind them being in old points...cos u know there still ww friendly just a matter of converting them...

    Heya

Good news. After 4 years of living in the lovely but slightly dull Portmarnock, my boyfriend and I are moving to Howth in 2 weeks time. We're so excited about having bars, and shops and cafes within walking distance again. My question is does anyone know of any fitness classes or gyms in Howth. My internet search hasn't really found much apart from one hotel there but it's a pretty big place so thought they might have something else??? Any advice would be great.
Obviously, I'll be getting out and walking around Howth summit when it's a decent day but as we're coming into winter I was looking for something indoors like pilates maybe.

McVities Temptations Belgium Milk Chocolate & Hazelnut Layer Biscuits!! Six individually wrapped packets with two bite sized biscuits in each packet. They look small when you take them out but if you take a bite and leave to melt on your tongue, they are just heavenly and the chocolate taste lasts in your mouth. Only 1pp per biscuit!!

You will find them in a box in the biscuit aisle. I get them in Dunnes.

    Heh Folks,

Well I joined 4 weeks ago and am down 9lbs in total. Was thrilled but was up half a pound last week. Too much eating and drinking at a wedding I was at I would say! Was a previous gold member and have 6months free after having a baby 10 weeks ago!

Anyway just pointed a deeeeelesh receipe for dinner. Not sure if anyone has ever posted something like this but it's a handy one for doing and popping rest in freezer, for a whole family, for a 2 day in a row dinner, or for one prepare in morning for that evening. It's a tuna bake receipe and honestly for those of you not into tuna you actually wouldn't even realize it.

    Tuna Bake (8pp per portion)

Half a head of brocolli (0)
    1 large onion (0)
    Packet of Mushrooms (0)
Tin of sweetcorn (the 165g drained weight one) (2pp)
2 large tins of tuna in brine (130g drained weight each) (5pp)
1 can of condensed low fat mushroom soup (1pp)
    1.2kg of Potatoes (24pp)

Chop veg and boil up. Peel and boil potatoes and then mash. (I pointed the potatoes by weighing after peeling.) Mix tuna, soup, and sweetcorn in regular lasange dish. Add in cooked veg and cover with mash potatoes. Bang in oven at 160 - 180 until potatoes golden brownish on top.

If you'd perfer it a bit creamier add another can of condensed low fat mushroom soup. It is a HUGE amount of potatoes and you don't need as much if you're watching the points for the day. Divided into 4 very very generous portions = 8pp!

Here's your sister. I swear to god I'm not touching another drop of drink until Christmas, was doing so well up until Saturday! I feel bad but there's nothing I can do about it now. Making soup today and will go for a couple of long walks & spins on the bike, feck it. Don't let it ruin you, best of luck for this week!

Found a great tip on the ww uk site from Anthony Worrell Thompson for lean mince - "don’t worry about getting lean mince for the dish, cook normal mince ahead and put in the fridge and then you can skim the excess fat off the top". :)

There's a couple of varieties and the are yummy!! Be aware that the 2 in the pack are 3 points.

Haha, was at the oktoberfest myself, had the beer and the hotdog too, somehow managed to lose a pound this week despite my very bad behavior on saturday. I find it so hard to be good on weekends too :(

Hi new to WW! Just joined today! It's my first time, so i'm really hoping this is going to be, i'll lose the weight. Got a bit of a fright when I stood on the scales, didnt realise I had put on so much weight. Eek.

Anyway I'm just a bit confused about the weekly pp allowance. Is it if I go over my daily pp allowance?

Glad to see there's a forum for this! It's good to have the support!

Welcome scary! Dont be afraid of your weeklies! They are there to be used. For some it's a case of trial and error to see how many gives the best result. Yes theyr'e there if you've run out of dailies and still need something or for special occasions/ nights out. Whatever. I've used most/ all of mine every week and lost every week.

Sometimes I'm more of a lurker here than a poster but I check in everyday. And all the posts/ support/ ideas/ inspirations have got me where I am today which is ...... GOAL!!!! So thanks all for the part you've played in that :-D

15 weeks and 29lbs later I've finally done it. I'm so bl00dy happy and dare I say it a little emotional!! And nervous. I kinda think the real work starts now, but I'm up for it and more than a little excited!!!

Well done! I'm new here and I don't even know what my goal is in stones and pounds! I'm afraid to even think about what it might be! I've lost 10lbs in 4 weeks. I'm still a little lost, but it's great to see all the inspirational stories here. I'm sure they will help.

It might sounds stupid but I would say you're eating more out of habit than an actual craving. I do the same, I eat something even if I'm not hungry!!

One thing that helps sometimes is squeezing half a lemon into luke warm water in the morning and drinking it. It kind of detoxes you but also the citrus puts you off sweet things.

Another tip is if you really want chocolate, wait about 20-30 minutes and a lot of the time you will find you don't want it after that.

But if worst comes to worst, just point EVERYTHING. It's not the best idea to spend your points on junk food but in theory as long as you stay within your points you should still lose. Are you writing down everything you're eating? I find it really good because I have to face the realities, I don't like writing down that I had 5 biscuits or 3 packs of crisps!! It makes me embarrassed. But it forces you to realise exactly how many points you are spending and at least if you put up weight or don't have a great loss you can examine your food diary and find out why!

    Had my weigh in tonight

    Down 2.5lbs!! Really really pleased.

Back to where I was three weeks ago because I have lost the weight I put on when I was in France. Didn't have the best week, didn't really exercise but I did track and that is making a difference.

Made some lovely soup this week for 0 pro points! So I've been having that with homemade brown bread for lunch. It's quite spicy too so it's putting me off having chocolate straight after lunch.
It's Butternut Squash and Chili Red pepper if anyone wants the recipe? Really easy to make and free points wise!

edit: and although it's been in my signature for ages today I realised that my BMI has moved from morbidly obese (above 35) to obese (30-35)!!

Thanks :-D the main things I've changed are my portion sizes. The food I ate was not the worst but I just ate so much of it! So now I weigh EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. It's actually not that big a job - just a couple of seconds. I got one of those flat scales that you can put to zero each time you add anything - hope you know what I mean. They are really handy.

I plan everyday the evening before and add it it to my app on my phone so everyday is planned and I rarely deviate from this. If I do I change my tracker before I eat it. Nothing goes in my mouth before I've pointed it. If I'm eating out ( and I've done so alot since I started WW) I see if I can get the menu online before I go. I point everything and in the supermarket I get out the calculator on the phone when I'm deciding what to buy. And when I'm shopping nothing goes in my trolley that I haven't worked out the points for. (I sometimes worry they must be watching me on CCTV wondering what I'm doing on my phone every couple of steps lol!!!)

And a big thing is that I've started exercising - I'm nearly finished the C25K and am doing Shred and zumba. It's really made a difference to my shape. I've gone from an uncomfortable size 14, who really needed a 16 alot of the time to a comfy size 10!!!

I know all the planning, tracking and weighing sounds like a right pain but really it's not. A few mins each evening and a couple of seconds when I'm cooking is all it really takes. And it's so worth it!!! Having the phone app is great (I use iWatcher) cos I can do it watching the tv and during the day it's always to hand.

I know it sounds cheesy but the pp plan works if you work it!!

Sorry if I found preachy lol. I'm feeling a little smug today :-D

    H x
