Sheep have to be scrapie monitored or Genotyped ARR ARR. Rams will need to be Brucella Ovis tested and all sheep must observe a stand still period on the farm (30 -60 days depending on what you are buying). You must register with DAFF as an importer (minor issue just fill out a simple form - name address phone herd/flock no etc). You will need a licenced haulier/transporter and approved trailer if the journey time is over 8 hours to bring them in - there is a bit of paper work involved but its mostly done by the approved haulier and the vendor - you really only have to post or fax a VET 1A form to DAFF in Dublin at least 24 hours before the sheep enter the country.
