fu(king and messing with minds when finishing with a partner

I had this done to me in the past from my first love where at some stage towards the end of the relationship he had obviously decided no more but instead of dealing with the issue he strung me along and played hot and cold. Part of it was my fault in that I believed the lies he spun at me and I kept taking him back for him to continue. I suppose I was hoping for things to change and for things to go back to the good times. Foolish me.

But I learned from this and learned that words are cheap and actions speak volumes.

This brings brings me onto this summer. I met a chap. And although casual he fu(ked with my mind blowing hot and cold.

My question is: have much people experienced such treatment? And why oh why do some people do this showing no respect? Almost as if to say: I'm finished with you but put first I'll fu(k you down into the dumps and see how long I'll be able to string you along.

LyndaMcL is right, ilovesleep. This is not the place. More people answer but they will take the piss. So Ladies Lounge or Personal issues is best for these kind of threads.

You love sleep, he loved sleeping around. There has to be give and take in a relationship.

Pretty sure ILS knows exactly what'll happen in AH. She did ask here for advice on a spot on the crack or her arsé after all.

OP, doesn't happen to me 'cos the first time someone tries to mess with my head, I'm gone.

People often act like assholes towards the end of a relationship so that the other person will get pissed off and do the dirty work of having to do the breaking up.

Saves them having to look like the bad guy (or girl).

And then some people are just assholes all the time and don't care how it affects the other person.

(God I sound bitter :D I'm not, honest!!)

No I didn't have a bad break up at all.

Yep! I did put my foot down and fled fast this time.

    I just despair, that's all.

Good for you, but don't despair, just put the energy into finding something better. Remember, living well is the best revenge. Fúck him, go and be happy.

I think everybody has to go through this once when they are young like the chickenpox or something. You are older and wiser now and are unlikely to fall for it again.Dont beat yourself up about it.Millions of happily married people have a story like that in their past.It will all fall into place one day.Read a book called "hes just not that into you" .Every girl in the world should be given that book on her 16th birthday. Then make up on and hit the town!

Girls hould go underage drinking to deal with future relationship issues? Hmmm....interesting plan.

Whoa there Mr Duffy!! How do you know she is underage? Did I miss that bit? I never mentioned drinking. I meant go out and replace him.Plenty more fish etc

You drunk? I was talking about the part in your post that I bolded.

No not drunk unless someone spiked my Lyons. I do however think I see what the issue is here. I said that every woman should be given that book WHEN she turns 16. The op could have turned 16 eight years ago.

I think everybody should be given a potty when they are 2 as well.

    No, that's not all you said, what you actually said was;

I'm not talking about the OP, it's nothing to do with her age, I was addressing what you said.

You do know that it's perfectly possible to go out on the town without drinking alcohol ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 275 ✭✭herosa

Yes every woman should be given that book on her 16th birthday.Ok we both have that bit.
    Now how does that become

1 hi op you must be 16 (or any age for that matter)

2 Go out and get drunk to deal with all future relationship issues.

Its that wee leap there that has me just a tad confused.

Seeing things that arent there are usually a sign of psychic ability or a few interesting conditions requiring a few interesting medications.

    No seriously read it again.

Ah Jesus. I didn't mention anything about the OP's age. Ever. I was addressing your idea that at 16 girls should get that book, then hit the town. You presented that idea like a plan for learning how to deal with issues.

And to yourself and Liam B, yes, I know people can go out without drinking, but the expression "hit the town" is an idiom.

Ah Jesus is right!! Ok last try

She should buy that book this week(which by the way is essential reading for all teenage girls imo)

She should hit the town this week and try and get over boyfriend by meeting someone else.

NOT and I repeat NOT girls should waken up on their 16th birthday read that book and then hit the town.

    I never said that.

How did you manage to learn how to write without learning how to read?

Does this discussion have a point to it or are you all just going to argue about some ****ing book?

The point was well adressed on page 1, it's been mostly the book thing since. Feel free to join in, but you'd want to have nothing better to do. I'd stick with ignoring it if I was you.
