Dublin Hospital Carparks

Is there anyway of prepaying parking for hospitals. Recently I had to visit a couple of the Blanch and Bons in Glasnevin and it seems the only way to pay is with coins. With no facility to get coins at either place, and its expensive too. Its a complete pain in the butt.

Surely there is a better way than this.

I think those car parks are tendered out so the contract probably only lasts a few years which means that there is no incentive for the operator to invest in any kind of fancy technology like numberplate scanners or whatever.

There's a change machine beside the reception desk at the main entrance in Blanchardstown hospital.

I thought you could use your credit card aswell at the pay machines in Blanchardstown, although I might be mistaken.

    Not seen a CC slot.

Is there a cash point there?

Depends on the hospital and the parking provider completely. Bons just direct you to a change machine inside the hospital (there is one, its bloody well hidden); I have a sum total of 0 customers in Blanch so don't know for sure there.

Most of the others have multi-stories which are post pay but IIRC you can pay with notes for up to a week for the P&D in Beaumont.

    Loughlinstown has free parking ;)

.. if you can actually find anywhere to park, that is.
