It's not possible with an Irish Sky subscription.

That's why I was interested in 5 HD! Are you watching in the UK?

I have a Freesat from Sky card but it won,t get me FTV channels on a sky hd box I purchased from Adverts.

Could I call Sky and have card married to box would that make a difference?

That's what I did. I have the full sky hd package separately on other boxes/tvs. Call Sky and dial 141 before the UK number which hides your number and hey ho way to go (#31# from a mobile hides your number) .. I did and it works fine.

The particular FTV card I have I bought from a sat installer in Spain.

Can I still call Sky ornwould they require the original name and address that the FTV card was originally registered to?

Not atall. They will match it to a particular box. Very straight forward. Have you a box with which to pair it ?

Yes I have a box to be paired.

I will call them tomorrow thanks very much! ;)

You should have a UK address so they can match it to a UK region. I lived in London, Eastcote Lane, Harrow, post code HA2 8RN .. you can use that if it helps you.

DO NOT CALL SKY TO PAIR THE CARD !!!

There is no need to pair those Freesat from $ky cards. IJust insert them in your box and leave that on overnight. The card should update itself OTA overnight. I've had this card, all 2 versions of it for the past 6/7 yrs. I have the white one currently. Also have a family member in UK(hence my card) with over 10 yrs installing $ky systems over there. He has confirmed the foregoing.

Try it & see if it works.

The card was in the box all night and day and made no difference yet it works on a old sky sd box.

The hd box displays the message saying "the card is incorrect for the box, please call sky. "

I've already asked this over in the foreign satellite section but this might be a better to place to ask. Where is the best place to get a FTV card that is already activated/paired to a sky box so that I can use it in my vu+ duo box to watch Motors TV?

I don't have a sky box so I will be using ccam to keep it updated.

Do a search on Boards and you should find a long thread on ftv cards from last year.

Someone here explained how to order one from the Sky UK website and you put in your Irish address on the online form but add N. Irleland to the end of the address and also a NI Postcode.

That then usually gets here (mine did).

You then have to call Sky UK to switch on and activate the card so you do so by hiding your phone number ID and you pretend youi are from Northern Ireland.

This works as i have done it.

Reason for all this is because Sky FTV cards are only legally sold to the UK market and not for sale to ROI.

I think the card costs £20 or £25

I found that thread on the FTV cards using a NI address. The only problem is that I can't get the card activated as I don't have or ever had a sky box.

I think I might try ebay. I presume i need a white card and not the blue ones.
