    Hey,

Today I was getting the message "No Satellite Signal is being received"(18 in the top right if that is some sort of error code) for channels such as E4, Channel 4, ITV etc. BBC is coming in fine and alot of others. Alot of the channels I added manually but the ones that used to work in the main listings aren't working either now.

Sky News and some of the other free ones are working fine still. Does anyone know if Sky made changes, or is it possible the dish might have swayed abit in the heavy wind this morning to cause this?

We aren't using any viewing card.

    Thanks.

This is a very common symptom with many possible causes including:
Partly blocked signal - look for tree in the signal path.
Faulty Digibox - test by substitution.
Faulty cable - look for bad connections, kinks and water ingress.
faulty dish - look for distortion and loose mountings.
Local interference - unplug nearby DECT phone etc.
Faulty LNB - check by substitution.

You need to do some tests. Instead of guessing, try a different Digibox to see if that works. If it does, look inside your (unknown make/model) Digibox to see if any capacitors are bulging.

I had this problem after replacing my dish because the arm broke on the old one. I did my best lining up the new one and it worked ok except for when it rained. Then some channels were ok some were not. I just thought I hadnt lined it up correctly. A few weeks ago I upgraded to Sky HD and when the installer was finished I asked him would he take a quick look at the dish which he did and discovered it was a faulty lnb.
    Hopefully this might help.

Which is one of the possibilities I listed. But not necessarily the cause of the OP's problem. Eliminate each possibility one by one.

I had the same problem with the same channels. Was resolved by moving dect phone and wireless router!!
