How sad must someones life be to get worked up over this. A few kids might say "Schweddy Balls". Oh the humanity.

I genuinely don't get why it is offensive

What warped child would look at it and think/understand it was vulgar (which it isn't)?
I'd say most kids from about 10 up will get it (yes, almost all children are mildly warped when it comes to such humour, par for the course ... or perhaps "coarse"?).

And they'll love it, and buy it all the quicker because of the name, and being able to say things to their friends like: "wanna lick of my Shweddy Balls?"

God's sake, the things people get worked up about!

Worse ... the things they find acceptable and DON'T get worked up about! >.<

Maybe that was true back in the day, but Ben & Jerry's has been a subsidiary of Unilever since 2000... so definitely a big-company brand, and about as liberal as P&G/Nestle/etc.
    From the wiki
"As Ben & Jerry's gradually grew into a nationwide business and one of the largest ice cream companies in the USA, Cohen turned his new-found wealth and prominence toward a variety of social causes, generally through the Ben & Jerry's Foundation. The Foundation receives 7.5% of all Ben & Jerry's pre-tax profits and distributes funds to organizations such as the Anti Displacement Project. Cohen also oversees TrueMajority and Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities.[1][6]

Cohen has been an active voice in favor of liberal causes. He supports small-scale farming, does not accept milk with rBGH or other implants, and has heavily criticized US budgetary priorities, pointing out that more money is spent on nuclear weapons than on children's healthcare programs.[6] He is also vocal in his support of Democratic candidates, including Dennis Kucinich for the U.S. Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 and John Edwards followed by Barack Obama in 2008."

eta: I'm not saying you're wrong just that perception is reality in this day and age and old Ben is still a voice.

yea, but Richie, that's no good to me. I'd love a crate of chunky monkey and cherrygarcia. I'll have to get friendly with my local cinema staff.

seriously, etc can't we buy the good stuff in the shops?

It's like jelly beans too, it's like there's a conspiracy against being able to buy the really nice stuff in this country. you'll find it in like 3 places.. Science is still working out where those are :(

As long as they don't do what PETA suggested... that they use human breast milk instead of animal to make the stuff...............:pac:

I suppose they'll have to go with the second option for the name; "Betty Swollock's Sticky Mess"

Thats one of the exceptions to the rule, we dont get nohere near as many flavours, or as many as widely available.

    Heh,

Having tried the stuff I can guarantee that it would make a delicious ice-cream.

I remember when I saw the Black and Tan icecream, at first I was like "Hey! That's the name of the group that killed my great grandad!"
Then I was like "Mmmmm stout Iceream mmmm."

Same with this one, I really want to eat these Schwetty Balls.
