Could you not just scan the document into a computer and get someone to print off a few sheets for you ?

Its not going to be easy to suggest cheap b/w photo-copying service to you without knowing the size of document and number of copies requires .

Of course location is important too as already stated .

There's an exception in the Copyright and Related Rights Act, 2000 that says you can photo copy a book for personal use.

Section 50 of the 2000 Act refers to fair dealing in the context of research or private study.
    http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2000/en/act/pub/0028/sec0050.html#sec50

As mentioned, Copyplus in Drumcondra know about this and have it pasted on their wall: http://www.copyplus.ie

It does not confer a right to copy books, or large portions of them. "Fair dealing" is limited to use
for a purpose and to an extent which will not unreasonably prejudice the interests of the owner of the copyright.
