    Hi,

Seen this in Liffey Valley CW today.

"Manager Special" Free HTC Desire S... €35 per month 250 text, mins and mb data. Think its with O2.

Its advertised on a a seperate stand at the door with the phone and all the details hand written. Looked a bit odd to be honest but might be worth checking out.

250mb of data will go nowhere and then they'll charge you a rediculous amount for any use over the 250

that said, the offer on the phone itself is good

I assume this is 24 months?

No idea about the contract, just saw the stand as I was walking past.

250mb of data is fine for checking e-mails ,news websites and FB. But useless if the phone is going to be your primary internet device.

That's not a managers special, that's the standard price in all Carphones. And it's an 18 month contract and while 250MB is pretty low, 2GB is €10 as far as I'm aware!

if you're after the data, and would be then paying €45, you may as well pay the same 45 pm (albeit over 24 months) and get 200 mins, 200 texts, 5gb data and a free iphone with meteor

    Or even more with Three:)

iPhone is with 24 month contract though and can be difficult for people to get accepted onto. And I've just looked for that add on, looks like it could be changed I can't find any info on it!

    €35 * 18 Month contract = €630
Phone on expansys.ie (I'm sure it could be got for cheaper) = €399.66 delivered.
Doesn't really seem like a good deal for the phone

You're not taking into account the 4500 minutes and texts you get free over them 18 months or the 4.5gb of data.

Actually no, I work with Carphone so have absolutely no reason to prefer one network over another?

Jaysus, when you read it like that, 4.5gb over 18 months is flog all!

Well you may not but you can be sure that the Carphone Warehouse get different kickbacks from each mobile operator, at least they did a few years ago. There will always be one favourite service provider.

its not, but its a way of advertising a certain deal easily to get people that walk by to notice a decent offer. Example perrier here . Yes id be worried about the data but if you monitor it you could be fine

True enough, but at the moment though there's no reason for me to push O2 at all, the new Vodafone tariffs are the hot topic for us at the moment.
