Well done on all the losses! Some great numbers there. I took a sneaky WI this morning and it seems my 3.5lb gain is gone :) I've been really good the last 2 days. I even allowed myself a treat last night but used some of my weeklies for it. I've done the Davina dvd the last 2 days and it's definitely making a difference.

On the scone topic, if you do buy them I would weigh each one individually even if the packet say one is 55g. From experience they can vary so much in weight. And remember to point what you put on it as well :)

you can get the odlums ready made scone mixture, and they take like 10 mins in the oven. thay way you can your scone...and be able to point it 100%
    and use skimmed milk :)

You could add some spices to it and use it as a glaze/coating for chicken fillets?

i generally share a diced breast chicken curry with chips, dont have any rice or prawn crackers, no idea how many points in mine tho, i would give 10 points for the chips and not sure how to point the chicken, i generally would have approx 8 pieces
do u have the eating out guide? i know it has some chinese food in it but not sure if singapore chow mein is in it

Vodka and diet redbull :D and Prawn Cocktail Snack-a-jacks as nibbles to go with the drink. Would usually have 4 vodka's on Friday and Saturday and 2 packets of snack-a-jacks each night. So 12 each night for the vodka and 5 for the 2 packs of crisps so I use without fail at least 34 weeklies every weekend. I need it to keep me sane though, that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it :p

I had my treat last night which was kinda bad. I had a galaxy bar 7pps and a small bag of cool doritos 6pps so in total 13pps. I had some dailies left and the rest was on weeklies.

Each chinese is different so you'll have to guess looking at your own portion. I'm not a take away person so not quite sure what's in a singapore chow mein :o but a chicken chow mein starts from 9pps.

I'm supposed to be studying but there's some serious procrastinating going on and I'm struggling to stay away from food. Hopefully I can hold off til dinner!!

I think we have to treat ourselves, otherwise we'd go insane! My treat to myself is one night out at the weekend, where I spend my 49 points on drinks/dinner etc. Went out last night, not sure how many I used, been dying a death with a hangover and all wanted to do was eat fatty food....so I forced myself to go to the gym! Took my mind off the greasy food and I sweated some of the booze out of me!:D

turkey tikka, made it the other night! Add some curry paste to the yoghurt and about a teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix in some diced turkey and leave it to marinate for a while. Then oven cook!

Does anyone know approximately how many points there are in a small chicken curry with rice from the Chinese? The ones that are in the one smaller box.

Had one yesterday and I have no idea what to put down.

Hey everyone, Just popping in for a quick hello :) some great losses on here well done!

So I've not posted in a while, but I've been keeping up with everyone's progress. I haven't fallen off the wagon or anything still pointing with a vengence.

Eabha I have the Davina Body Buff DVD and I have to say I find it great, it leaves me no excuse if I'm working late and too tired to go out for a walk I think I'll be using it alot over the winter months.

So Since last time I was here I went to Electric Picnic, I had a great time and for the first time since I started WW in January I didn't point for a whole week. I had a couple of days in my grandmothers prior to EP and I was taking her out for lunch dinner etc so I made sure to make as good a choice as I could and stock up on fruit and home made soups etc. I allowed myself to eat or drink whatever I wanted at EP, I have to say I was impressed I didn't go totally crazy! There was an amazing farmers market and they had so much yummy cakes, sweets etc. I bought a slice of chocolate biscuit cake and split it with a friend, I love it, but I took two bites and couldn't eat it, it was way too sickly sweet and probably the best thing i could have done because it put me off the thoughts of any cakes, sweets etc for the whole weekend!

I ate lots of nice savoury food though. The end result was I was up 1lb at my next WI, I was expecting a gain and it could have been alot worse. I continued to work my butt off exercising eating right etc and at my next WI I STS.......I was so frigging mad I know I know ridiculous but I had done a ton of exercise and was p*ssed off it was not showing on the scales.

I didn't let it deter me though and continued on. I'm working long hours at the moment - 12 hour days and sometimes 6 days a week so it's difficult but I'm a woman with a plan! I've spent the last couple of weekends doing major cook offs so I have good dinners in the freezer it means I pull out whatever in the morning and then all I have to do is cook some pasta, rice, cous cous etc and heat up the thing I froze and maybe make a salad it cuts down on so much time mid week and while I love cooking it's just too hard when I'm at the office 7am to 7pm and only getting home at 7.30 and still have to get in my hours exercise etc as well. Soup is my staple at lunch with a Ryvitta snack pack and I have 2 snacks at work one of fruit and the other depends on what I feel like but I try to keep it at about 5pp or so.

So had my next WI today and i'm delighted to say down 1.25lbs! so all the planning exercise etc is kicking into place and I'm back to my pre EP weight and an extra 0.25lbs to boot. I have to say I'm really seeing the inch loss as well, I've had some nice comments from people, my face looks alot thinner especially when I have my hair tied back even though I have a round face and I always will no matter what I weigh I'm starting to see more definition around my chin and my cheekbones are getting more pronounced.

My collar bones are sticking out a bit more as well and I'm definitely feeling it in my clothes so although I'm down 1.25lbs in basically 3 weeks I've definitely lost alot more in inches.

Keep up the good work everyone and don't let anyone or anything deter you. I've been having a tough time the last few weeks & it's part of the reason I've not posted, I'm not here to post a sob story but all I'll say is it would have been so easy for me to say f*ck it and undo all my hard work but I didn't. It's taken me since the 21st of January to lose 30lbs and there's no frigging way i'm putting it back on, I've worked extremely hard to lose it and with the exception of EP hadn't taken a break from the plan at all. The weeks I work hardest I may not lose at all and the following week may be 0.5 or 0.75 but it is coming off slowly but surely, it is so easy to put weight on but so difficult to lose it! Life is always going to be difficult so I've decided no matter what life throws at me I'm putting myself, my health and my body first! it's too easy to make excuses and it's not going to be something I do anymore.

To reward all this hard work I impulsively booked a holiday on Monday night. I'm going to NYC in December so I'm focused on getting into the 10st bracket prior to going, that'll be my xmas and it's also going to be my B'day so I want to ensure I work hard and continue to eat right between now and then so that I can relax & enjoy myself while I'm away and then when I get back with the exception of Xmas day I'll be back on plan with a vengence.

Sorry for the long post! Best of luck everyone with the coming week and enjoy ye're weekends :D

Had a NSV today. My mum came home from a weeks holiday and she said to me I must have been down at WI during the week and when I told her I had a gain of 3.5lbs she was shocked. She said it looked like I had lost a good bit :) So here's hoping that I will be down this week!!

    Hey all,

It's funny reading back over the posts to see how many of us seem to fall down when we get close to goal!
My leader said that this is really common, and in fact those who do this tend to keep the weight off more than those who get straight to goal with no bumps along the way, so that's encouraging!

I've had a rotten week and haven't pointed or exercised. I'm going to try to get back to normal today and see how much of this half stone I can lose before Christmas.

    Fingers crossed!

Also, does anyone have a nice recipe for a chickpea curry? I would love to cook up a nice batch to have for dinners in the eve.
    Ta!

The weight seems to be budging a bit now, thank jeebus. I've been sticking religiously to the plan for 2 and a half weeks and had only lost a half pound at the last weigh in. Hopefully I'll have another 2 to add to that total this Wednesday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 578 ✭✭✭Caros

Have had a kinda crappy few weeks WW wise, got a bad eye infection, was off work, not really tracking properly, got back into the swing of things this past week as I was back at work, blasted car had to go to the garage on Thursday and I was too late for my meeting so hopefully this week will show something on the downwards side. This will be my fourth week that I've been faffing about with the same couple of pounds, in fact last WI I was half a pound heavier than 4 weeks ago! I just cannot seem to get that second stone off!

Anyway will keep plodding on and live in hope, at this stage would be happy to make half a stone for Christmas!

I throw in butternut squash, peppers, carrots, onion, courgette, brocolli. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil (4pp) & then sprinkle on some mixed herbs. Mix up & roast in the oven for 30-40 mins at 200. This gives me 2-3 portions. I sometimes have a plate of roast veg with 30g grated low fat cheese (2pp) for a very low pp lunch.
