Recommend a dentist for young kids in Dublin

My daughter is 4 years old and needs to see a dentist. Can any one recommend one?

Preferably female.

My kids have been going to the dentist on the corner of the Malahide Road and Tonlegee Road for years and always enjoy the experience.

There are three kinds of dentist for kids:

Your regular family dentist: some have a real knack with kid and if you child is not too nervous then this option is ideal. Best ask mums around your area for a recommendation of someone might PM you one on here.

Specialist Kids dentists called paedodontists, they have special techniques to make treatment gentle and even enjoyable for kid (I don't know how they do it they have voodoo ways

) They generally cost a bit more and suit children that need lots of work or are difficult to get to have treatment.
You HSE Dental Clinic also treat children for emergencies.

What kind do you think your child requires

Hi OP, your daughter will get a dental check when she is in primary school. If they pick up any problems she will be referred to the local dental clinic and all the work will be done for free. So unless you think there is a specific problem now it's worth holding out for that. Once you are in the system it works well.

In the meantime, our family dentist is based near Beaumont. He's very gentle and he's got a nice way with kids. PM if you would like the contact details.
