Does anyone know anything about "Frost Fighter"

Hi All, I know I am a bit ahead of myself, but I recently bought a frost fighter to put in my attic. I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff and have a fear of burst pipes. Has anyone heard of this product. The instructions state the following:-

Porcelain bulb holder, mount 24 ins away from water tank
    Screw lamp into bulb holder
Mount frost thermostat 2 meters away from the heat lamp, in a location not affected by heat from the heat lamp or heat from the floor below
Plug device into suitable 230v outlet
The thermostat can be set between 2 deg C and 10 deg c
Your frost fighter is now operational and ready for the coming winter frost.

Ok, so I know I probably sound like a real thicko, but I really have no idea about this kind of stuff and my brothers are as bad as me. Do the above instructions indicate that the thermostat is automatic. i.e once I have it set up and plugged in, it will automatically come on when the temperature reaches 2 degrees Celcius. I would be very grateful for any guidance anyone can provide. (Hope I have posted in the right place, apologies if I didn't).

    yes
plug it in and it will switch on automatically when the temperature drops
then turn off when it rises again
make sure there are no obstructions for the heat lamp
