Have just had the profound pleasure of discovering this band exists. Being a super Sleater-Kinney fan, to hear that two of the three members (minus now sole Corin Tucker) are in a new band was crazy exciting, and left me wondering how the heck I didn't find out until today.

Anyway, listening at the moment and they sound great. Definitely along the sonic lines of The Woods, which is only a good thing. An infectious sense of fun off their songs too. Here's one, Romance, which is pretty fantastic:

Thanks for that, it sounds good. I often wondered what happened to Sleater-Kinney. I had an impression that one of them was involved in some tv series or something, but I might be confusing that person with a different band.

    Must check out that album.

There's an interview with them over yonder that goes into it a bit. Carrie spent some time writing for NPR.

Corin Tucker has started a solo career - album last year. Saw her live (and got to talk to her :)) in Tokyo last year which was awesome. She's married with kids to Lance Bangs, which I find quite odd for some reason. This is probably the best song from her album:

Grr  I saw Sleater-Kinney only once, in TBMC (which will tell you how long ago that was). It would've been around The Woods or perhaps the album before that, which I didn't really know very well at the time.

I was very late to the bandwagon (like within the last twelve months or so!) so seeing Tucker was as close as I could get to seeing the band at the height of my fandom. Hopefully Wild Flag will pop over here at some point - they have a single gig in England in December so here's hoping they make the short hop while they're at it :)

Hopefully. I'll keep an eye out for it. Having said that, there's been a couple of bands recently that have only played England. Wye Oak springs to mind, I was very annoyed about that.

They played TBMC on The Woods tour. Only time I got to see them too.

Forgot that this Wild Flag band existed.

Didn't make it to that gig as Dinosaur Jr were playing here the same night and I went to that which wasn't great . But went up to Belfast the next day to see SK there :D Fantastic live band, such a great gig. Will have to check out Wild Flag. Thanks boardsies for the heads up.
