NCT can't give me a date during re-test period

    Ok so what now, they can't give me a date to re-test my car during the period, meaning that I will have to go for a full re-test.
    I do not mind traveling around, but still, all dublin centers fully booked. I thought this ridiculous backlog was cleared some time ago...

    What are my options here, they don't seem to care and told me if I can't find a date I will have to do the full test. Well funny guys, give me a date and I won't have to..

    Just telling me to call all the time so I might get lucky if someone cancelled, been 3 days already I keep calling them.

    My fathers car was in the same situation as he was on holidays.. He called up and gave it socks and they said they will take it after the retest date for the retest price..

    And too right.. If they cant provide you a date within the retest period then they should carry the dates over... Call back and give it a bit more pressure!

    I've just had a very similar experience.
    Ring them up to book an initial NCT and you can get a test next day (or in my case, same day!), ring them or a re-test and you're lucky if you can get it within the re-test period, funny that:rolleyes:

    Go to your nearest centre and camp at the desk until they take your car.
    It's a pain in the a**e but it gets it done.
