Airbag light wont go off on Seat Ibiza 2000

    The air bag light wont go off . It has been checked and they said its about 400 euro to fix. Any suggestions. The car is too old to put that kind of money into. Also the driver window electrics are gone and the garage cant get the part. They said its the button that you press to get it to go up and down. Anyone know where I could get one.

    The airbag light won't go off unless the problem is fixed and if you simply remove the bulb then your car won't pass an NCT.

    As for the electric window switch, I don't see why a garage would have any problem getting one of these, either a call to Seat for a new one or a call to a couple of breakers yards should have one sourced in no time.

    Sounds like the airbag light could be a seat recognition sensor if that expensive

    If the Ibiza has the same foundations as the Golf (can someone confirm?) the connections to the airbags under the seats can, for a split second, disconnect.

    This will throw up the airbag light that will not go away until you get the code cleared.

    The garage should have cleared the code for you. I did it with my Golf, then over a bump I got the error again.

    The fix is to take the front seats out, cut the cables and using either solder or those little things that has two screws. I can never remember the names of them.

    Very easy fix if you are a keen DIYer or willing to pay a good indy mechanic to do it for you. Then, get the code cleared again and see what happens.

    Ibiza's are based on Polo's but the problem with the under seat connections can happen on those too.
