    Hello,

    Sorry if this is the wrong section but my question is this;

    I currently have a static website and I'm about to start implementing a changeover to Wordpress.

    Is my best method to do this to create a folder on my server such as:
    www.mysite.com/sandbox/newwordpress/

    and then develop the site from there and once its complete, move it to the top level of the public_html folder?

    Or is there a cleaner method I am unaware of.

    Thanks for any llght you can shed.

    install lamp and install wordpress there, then when finished move it to your hosting.

    shouldn't really have a under development site publicly accessible imo.
