    Yep. Although the huge (borked!) mushroom farm someone undermined practically the whole town with produces an impressive number of mobs... all I can say is: do NOT open stokolan's door unless heavily armed! :eek:

    Server's on full 1.8 now, without mods of course.


    EDIT: Whitelist is now going to be enforced on the 1.8 server. Anyone whitelisted on the other map will be auto whitelisted on the 1.8 map

    I reckon setting up our own settlement would be better and then people can claim 1 house per npc village thats found but you cant have more than 2 houses, how does that sound?

    I agree setting up our own settlement would be better, or expanding on the NPC village would be just as good. I find the NPC village as is to be a bit confined.

    I'd love to have a house in a town this time around.

    No more sleeping in the dirt for me! Knocking door to door begging for bread :pac:

    OK, having hopped onto the server at lunch, we clearly and urgently need something of a plan... :D

    The current village is tiny and there's no space for people to build even a basic shed for themselves. I appreciate that there are rooms at the Inn though, so that addresses immediate concerns.

    Will our overall plan be to find NPC Villages and take them over in small groups and link them all up (I like this personally, but it requires a lot of co-ordination that I don't think people here are interested in putting the time into) or should we build a big settlement like the last town and work from there (more immediately fun and useful tbh).

    Do we assign tasks to people or draw up a lit of projects and have people "tender" for them?

    Cause right now it just seems like everyone's off playing with the new stuff like kids on Christmas Morning and that's just gonna mean a server with no direction again and it'll quickly turn into the almost empty server again cause people are going to wait for 1.9...

    One thing Id like to be done if we have our own town. Now massive flats !!! that yoke at the back of the village was terrible! took the look of the rest of the palce

    Damn developers building ghost estates! Haven't they learned from the mess they put the country in! >_>

    So a plan is needed, Assigned tasks to certain people wouldn't really work as there would be delays, people doing other peoples tasks and such and what not.
    A list of jobs is needed and they should just be completed by whoever wants to do them.

    I like the plan of multiple villages of small groups that link up. 1 house per person (as in you can't have a house in 2 villages), and if you want to travel you can stay in an inn. Might give some sort of direction/purpose - as in if you have to travel to one village to sell supplies etc. Or have certain items restricted in each village, which means you'd have to travel to another village if you wanted something; "oh you want some of X eh? You'll have to go to cork for that"

    Just listing stuff off the top of my head tbh. (while looking over my shoulder to make sure nobody catches me in work :rolleyes:)

    Each village could have a 'chief' or a town council or what not. Might even end up having rival villages etc.

    After having a chat with Cherry on MSN, I wonder if we're maybe better off only installing some "bare essentials" on this until 1.9 appears? It seems possible that you'd need another reset when 1.9 rolls around (but we're just speculating, so can't be sure), so I proposed that we have vanilla 1.8 to let people play with and see the new features and all the rest so we can get all the "wow, check out this!" out of our system :D

    Proposed "bare essentials" plug ins would be Lockette, Big Brother (anti-grief) and the world dimensions limit (3000 X 3000 I believe on the current 1.7 map) to stop the map becoming stupidly big and lagged. I'd also suggest that people were free to build everywhere and anywhere as long as they're not being dicks about it (I'm looking at you inverted pyramid guy from the first server :p).

    Thoughts?

    Sounds good, but one concern: What if there's no reset for 1.9 and you end up with a load of ghost towns again?

    Don't think so. A few of us have said it'd be a lot better without one (reset your spawn manually with the bed).

    Bed spawn means we don't really need the teleport commands.

    Ok, The minecart track needs to be modified. Made it half way back before i gave up due to animals jumping down and making me turn around and randomly placed blocks blocking the track(Due to endermen trolling). Suggest encasing the entire thing in glass or moving it underground.

    Odd question on the nether gates. Is the Dublin one the only one you can exit from. Went to the nether and couldn't come back through my own.

    Nether gates bring you back to the closest gate in the real world that was made first. You'd need to head a long way away from any existing gates to come back out through the one you made.
