    Hi,

I'm the best man for my father's(second) wedding coming up in a couple of weeks.

I'm neither close to him or my step-mother-to-be but I am the oldest so that's why I'm the best man.

I never really have talked to her family so it's not like i'll have an easy crowd.

    I'm a nervous person anyway and they've invited 400 people:eek:!!!

I don't have a clue what I'm going to do as I don't even know what to put in the speech, please won't somebody help me!!!

I've looked online but all the speeches seem to be americanish and corny.

    Please please help !!

I suppose, while there's no need to lie, you can quite honestly thank everyone there for coming. Say how thrilled you are on behalf of your father that their friends and family could make it that day.
If you think he's happy, then comment how he's found the right woman to make him happy. I'm sure if that makes you happy too, that's another thing you could say - "I'm glad to see my father so happy".
It doesn't have to be a long speech. Once you say your thanks to the relevant people and bridesmaids and any other parents (your grandparents) for being there and making it happen, and comment on how lovely the bride and bridesmaids look, you don't really need to stretch it out, or go into anecdotes. You're not his buddy, you're his son, so no one will be expecting life-stories of him from you.
