time like this we need all the dignity we have. We're Cap in Hand these
days & the international business social scene is replete with humour about our banking system.
The Germans think we're funny and Germans are difficult to amuse
about serious matters.Norris brings a new and vile Mystique to the office it's a signal victory all the way for the lower elements who preoccupy themselves with every activity below the waist and very little above it.His appointment will create a stronger call for a new right wing a new party???
If you are homophobic, at least have the courage to say so, rather than hiding behind terms like 'low culture', 'vile Mystique' () and 'lower elements'.

Fortunately the bulk of the Irish population is rather more humane and has seen past these medieval attitudes.

Who do you think owns the right wing Sindo that is eagerly pushing Norris's campaign....but utlra right wing tax exiles O Reilly and O Brien !!!!!
All good catholics too, I might add !
The more I think about, the more I realise what a good match Norris the Sindo and FF are.

So what do Tony and Denis have to gain from Norris getting elected then?

Seems like Norris was infatuated with that man then and maybe still is. He's apologised.

Time for him to come back into the race. The other people in it are dire.

ah come on - folk don't want a paedophile apologist and wanna be that happens to be gay and they are classed 'homophobic - give real views a chance rather than demeaning it to the peurile divide of pro norrris - ok vs anti norris - homophobic ... lets class them paedophobic perhaps?

Norris is pro paedo-sexual - I don't think he has denied this ever - he loves the thought of it all - he is a paedo wanna be.

    A dirty old man.

actually I am not sure he did?

Time for him to come back into the race. The other people in it are dire.

yes the present candidates are dire for sure but no need for us as a nation laughed at from abroad and within for letting priests ride our children, to then elect a chap wanting by his own admission have children groomed and then rode by him and his ex partner (who was in fact his then present partner), not to mention his wanting to be abused himself as a child and support of pro paedophile associations in the past.

How would Enda Kenny be positioned gining out to the vatican about their priests with a president dripping at the mouth checking out the kids on primary school visits?

Not only should this same chap not be in an election for our presidency - his senatorship and his election to the same said position should be examined and a decison made as to his removal - he is a disgrace.

    Sorry did I say...

Norris is a disgrace. A cheapening of our national honour. A belittlement of us as a people.

Its to OUR shame as a nation that he is a spokesperson in the Senate.

Where is Brendan Smith when we need a liberal spokesperson in the Senate??

Perhaps not yeats enough for liberal folk today......

Norris is about the only candidate who could be supported by FF without it being a kiss of death. Anyone else and the electorate would avoid voting for them just to spite FF.

Brian Crowley is a popular man in Munster
Don't think he'd win but he'd do very well

Offhand, I reckon that would need to be drawn to the attention of plantiff before it becomes actionable?

I heard David Norris is gay.

    I never knew that

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

And there's no chance that anybody from the Norris camp would be monitoring Irish political discussion boards, particularly not now.

well i m sure if the poster is prosecuted he can ask an esteemed senator to write a character reference saying how out of character such a callous remark was

I don't think that would make any difference in a libel case, do you?

Low life hijacks terms that were respectable 30 years ago and uses them to cover filthy ways. Gay had quite a different meaning 30 years ago and Homophobic is a gross misuse of Homo=Man & phobos= Fear nothing at all to do with their FILTHY behaviour.

You've exposed yourself as a homophobe already on Boards. I suggest you travel back to the 19th century where your primitive outlook would find a better reception.

Is this your way of telling us you don't want to have bottom sex with a man? Because nobody can make you if you don't want to.

Decency involves butting out if the "issue" is between 2 consenting adults and absolutely no-one else.

The only reason there's an objection to Norris is because of his views re underage sex with an adult.

Well in fairness catholic Ireland pushed the idea that sex was unwholesome down our necks.
