    That's just shocking.

    Seriously. 6?

Yes, 4 girls 2 boys. Most of them are bright people so I don't know how they came up with it.

    Were giving away free calendars....

BUT were getting businesses to sponsor us for them and advertise on them so we've made a large profit already :P
That is generally successful, anytime I've seen it, it always makes plenty of profit. We aren't allowed do that in our school, because the school draws in sponsership itself and doesn't want to appear to be sending out 150 seperate students looking for sponsership as well.

It'd be hilarious if it turned out to be the most successful business there. If done right, it could make a profit (albeit a small one). They'd need to get a charity on board, make it a national charity day, and make it 90% for charity. Highly unlikely but possible.

Were the only group doing the calendars I think :pac:

I dont think it will be successful, they're only able to sell it in the school and I doubt anyone in my school would be interested apart from a few first year girls :P

Why are you limiting yourself to the school? When I was in first year, a first year group in another Limerick School did calendars. Stuck a load of adverts on it, made sure the school crest was visible and sold them all around Limerick for €4 or so. Think they made €2000 or so between two of them in the end. Take advantage of the prestige/community spirit of your school (presuming you are in a largish, well established school in your area). "Would you like to buy a <school name> calendar?" Immediately associated with the school and appearing to be fund-raising for the school, even though you aren't. If asked though, don't be deceitful and admit the money isn't going to the school. Or maybe make an agreement with your teacher to give 10% of the profit to a charity within the school (do you have any African house-building/Niall Mellon style trip or anything similar for the 6th years?) so when selling, you can say some of the money is going to a charity within the school. Could give a large bounce to the sales numbers.
