There a while back, I saw a squad car stuck in traffic have its sirens turn

on and what do you think happened next? It pulled out of the lane making

every other car stop or pull out of its way, went trough a roundabout and

straight to McDonalds! A garda jumped out and went in only to come out with

a few bags of take-away food 5 minute later. He got back into the car, sirens

on and headed out past all the traffic again and off towards the station!!!

Go to the " Fairytale Forum" please.

I honestly couldn't believe it either, thought it was funny at the time, but

    looking back now:rolleyes:

If you said supermacs everyone would believe you.
    None of that McDonald's crap.

Then you should report it to the Ombudsman. Abuse of authority is one thing. But what you describe is blatant stupidity and the force would be better off without him.

A few years ago in Galway, walking across the Quincentennial Bridge a Garda van came flying past me from behind with no sirens on the footpath. If I had taken one step to the right at the wrong time I would have been flattened. Couldn't beleive what I saw. Chances are they were just trying to avoid the traffic which was pretty horrendous I'll admit.

I'm waiting for someone to say the Garda helicopter landed at a McDonald's for a milkshake.

when I was 7 santa arrived at my national school in a Garda car with the local Garda. He didn't bring me what I wanted, should I contact the ombudsman?

Santa should not be in a garda car, joe public would not be happy to see the local garda doing something nice for the community. It's better if they remain detached from everyone.

this is serious! This Santa guy has been going around doing favours for people for years, he breaks into everyones house at Xmas and the frigging cops drive him around to schools. He's the worlds worst drink driver especially on Christmas eve. If hatrickpatrick hears about this he will want a tribunal!

The Gardai have already said that there are bad apples everywhere, even within their force, and they are dealing with them. Happens both ways.

I fail to see the relevance of your link in a thread about the use of cars by AGS.

Guards think there above the law,i saw a guard driveing down the road texting on a phone,he nearly hit someone walking across a zebra crossing!

Some guards are fine obviously but theres plenty that abuse the law.

They're exempt from the mobile phone law whilst on duty.

    You know what Bosco

Maybe where ever you're stationed you should set up a sting to catch this Santa guy
I mean its just not fair
    He is a burglar
    A drink driver
And the cops seem to love him
Do cop kids get better pressies at Christmas?
If they do I wanna know why we're not getting them in our house

Arrest him, throw him in a cell and then let your local radio station know that this Christmas we are all safe from the scourge that is Santa Claus :D:D

Ever been on the bridge ? There is a wide footpath with a cycle lane combined, enough room for the git in the van anyway..

Must have been one of those new "stealth" vans. You can't hear them at all.
