Setting up my multiswitch in a couple of weeks.

I have a 1.2m dish (that was on a motor before)

Going for the fixed option. So I have a multi LNB arm.

Probably going to have 28e / 19e / 16e / 28e as the inputs and Ordinary Aerial as the 5th input. (maybe another satellite rather than 2 28e connections)

This is the switch I have

With a DM800HD reciever in sitting room and Technomate 5400ci+ in the bedroom.

Will this work ok? Do I need to do anything special to the switch to make it work?

    Any suggestions?

No, it won't do what you want it to do. That switch is designed to 'split' one satellite position (from a Quattro LNBF) between 8 different receivers.

You seem to be looking for a setup where you share 4 satellite positions between 2 receivers.

So you need 4x twin (or quad) LNBFs and 2x 4-way diseqc switches.

How do you intend to feed 4 seperate sat. positions into that switch? Diseqc switches?

There are 4 inputs for satellite feeds. Im not sure what you mean? The DM800HD does the switching not sure on the other box

Yes thats what im trying to do. So the switch itself is no good or I use these with the 4-way diseqc switches.

If I connect the 4 lnb feeds to 1 switch and then that feed into the multiswitch times 2 will that work?

No, use 2 x 4 way diseqc & forget the multiswitch. Do you only have single lnbs?

Have one quatro lnb for sky and a few single lnbs but might get a couple of duals

I want to put all 4 satellites to 2 rooms/recievers

    So I need

    4 x dual lnbs
    2 x 4 way diseqc

Ok grand job. Could I use the switch for something else? (got it cheap) feels like a waste but suppose if I dont really need it .

If you know someone who needs 4 - 8 rooms fed with (say) Sky/Freesat & terrestrial, it would be just the thing. :)

    Apogee

    Thanks for that !

1 more question. How do these dual LNB's / 4 way diseqc switches work with breaks in the line? Any known issues as I dont have a straight run there will be 1 break between the lnb & the reciever. It worked ok when I had the motorised dish setup
