I'm hopin someone can help me out here pretty quick......I bought an SLx Complete Satellite Kit in Power City, Had too put the satellite together and now cant seem too get any quality when i'm looking around wit the satellite, I have the Finder (which has the most annoying sound ever) and have the compass but neither seem too be helping.....we cant seem too realise why the finder just stops making sound and its saying theres no quality.

    Can anyone please help??
My finder didnt seem to be working properly. Have a look around and see if there are any dishes on your neighbours houses. Point it in roughly that direction then get someone inside giving you updates on the signal quality bar. It took me ages to get anything of use and I still havnt got it perfect yet.

Use this site to get the exact angle you need for Astra 28.2 satellite (from your house - i.e. drag pointer to correct location). Then set LNB skew correctly (usually about 15 degrees) and point dish down slightly.

Still struggling with this? What channels are you missing? What type of scan are you doing? Are you doing a blind scan?

If you're doing an autoscan (or whatever is the equivalent on your box), it will only find the channels on the transponders of whatever satellite you scan.

How many transponders are on the list of the satellite you're scanning? What individual satellites are you getting? Look at this page here in the Foot Prints column to see whether you're getting them all, for example, it sounds like you're getting "2D", but what about 2A or 2B, or any of the E.bird beams?

Ah jaysus this is all bad news. I bought that system too. Followed the instructions and initially picked up about 30 eastern european channels. Moved the dish around and now I cant get anything. Not even the Romanian evening news. Has anyone got this thing working or do I just take it back to Mr. Aldi.

If you are connected to the already installed sky dish then you should get all the free to air channels available by doing a search on astra 2. You may have a channel list that was already programmed in the box. You need to delete the channels that are not showing any picture, and do a new search by satellite on astra 2. If you have done a search already you may not have searched for free channels only and any pay channels that came up will not work. Just delete all the bad channels and do a fresh search, if it all goes wrong you can reset to factory settings.

Try turning the dish towards where the sun is at 11 o clock in the morning and have it vertical , there are three satellites there one is the English channels . If you can tune it already on the wrong sat then you will have no problem when you find the right satellite..
