I really like Wilkins. It's no coincidence that Chelsea struggled big time when he left. Excellent coach, and a very good pundit who can give more insight into a game in 5 minutes than the likes of Redknapp can in a seasons worth of punditry.

It just sounds to me as if he goes to say Spearing but gets mixed up and says ''Jay Shhh'' but then corrects himself straight away so it sounds like ''Jay Shhh-ahhh Spearing''.

No. Just one video that was passed onto me via email and I thought I'd throw it out there. Lots of divided views about the fella. I think he has the prescience to understand a game he's played and managed and is now a pundit to provide his views and generally I'm not so opposed to his spectrum of thought on the game. Taking the video in isolation I don't envy it:pac:.

He might be a good pundit, but he's a bloody awful commentator. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but Jesus, he couldn't be more wrong for such a role. First and foremost, he has the most boring voice in the history of boring voices. He sounds like a Del Boy Trotter who has nothing to live for anymore. Secondly, and maybe Im the only one who this really annoys, but he tries so so so hard to come across as a likable guy who can make fun of himself. Seriously, next time he's co-commentating, just count the number of times he makes fun of a) his age, b) his hair or c) his age AND hair in the same go. Alan Smith: "Ryan Giggs, an elder statesman of the game of course..." Wilkins "He's not that old Alan, not compared to you and me anyway...chortle chortle". It's infuriating. I'm also convinced that while he may know his football, he thinks that cliches are the best way of communicating with viewers. If you want to communicate "Im a massive massive tool" then yeah, they're good, but other than that it's bloody cringeworthy.

And he loves absolutely everybody. That's annoying too for some reason. All I want is for him to be commentating and burst into passionate fury "...and the ball drops to Robin VAN PERS.........OH HOW THE FÚCK DID HE MISS!?!?!? YOU FÚCKING WASTER!". It would be a massive relief.
