Take bike cassette in carry on luggage on Aer Lingus?

A quick question: I bought a new cassette in London and am flying back with hand baggage only tomorrow. I've just had a thought that security might consider a road cassette to be a dangerous weapon.

Does anyone have any idea if I will be allowed to carry it on?

No idea. Keep it in the box. A cassette doesn't look too much like a ninja throwing star.
