very short notice for the interviews, i had 2 weeks to prepare for mine, here are some websites i used as prep

    http://www.redgoldfish.co.uk/cvinfo/toughquestions.aspx

    http://www.businessballs.com/interviews.htm#questions%20to%20ask%20interviewers%20at%20job%20interviews

Be prepared for 2 people on the interview board, mine was very situation based think up some examples of customer related skills, helpfulness and team work, they will prob follow a STAR based interview, situation, task, action and result

    http://www.mit.edu/~career/guide/star.html

    oh and best of luck

^^^ good advice, especially Leaving Cert students or ex-sparks apprentices who may have not had too many interviews in their time (or anyone in that position) ... if you try stick to the STAR format you won't go too far wrong ...

I've been following this thread for weeks but only feel the need to write now as the panic is setting in! I'm sure if i get an interview i'll get a place but the waiting game is killing me! Did my assessment on the 17th.. anyone from around then hear anything yet? Also is there many females waiting for a reply?.. I was the only girl there at my assessment and i've heard there are hardly any women left at this stage of the process! i'm unsure if this is a good thing or a bad thing for me? Freaking out now! :P well done to anyone who got an interview! :D

Hey brick ... I don't think they have got as far as the 17th yet . Nobody has posted anyways . There was a female at my assessment asweel 24th . I asked Ian that days was there many women and he said there was a fair few so your not alone lol . Be nice if someone could clarify that there still calling people or whether there doing a block of people and doing them first

Well today they rang me from witheld number so it is a possibility that it was them. maybe check your voicemail

I haven't got a call yet myself but if it was me , I'd bring a cv . Not just any CV re do it to what you think they be looking for . Emphasis on team work and any achievements or hobbies you think will help . I'd also bring a written reference aswell if you have one . Best of luck

Didn't think so and most certainly not a written reference, at the most I'd read over the application form and be certain of all the topics mentioned there because at the minute thats the only real background they have on us.

Seems on how the assessments are still being held I would guess they won't send out emails or calls to people saying they haven't got it until they have seen everyone. Thats good news for people still to hear. Just an assumption though as it seems fair and gives everyone an equal opportunity .

So do we need to bring anything to the interview at Eircom HQ? Cv, Leaving Cert results? etc..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Geralt

I think its better to take any relevant documents - even if u wont use them- than leave them at home . You never know. If they wont use them then thats grand , but on the other hand if they request some documents from you , you'll have them at hand. Its not like they are weighing tonne anyways. I think i read in one of the emails from they that they may require documents proving your education and/or experience. Cant find it atm so wont put exact quote

I've done the same when i went on the assesment day - wasnt sure if they will want any docs so i took them all with me ;)

Ya its better to have them with us. I wonder would it be a help to have work reference letters?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 higgs23

Ormondprop called them yesterday and they said you dont need to bring any documents. Its not a long interview so by the time they ask their questions the 35 mins will be up. They won't ask to see a copy of your C.V. because they should have a print out of your application in from of them (which was an in dept C.V.) my guess is know that inside out.

I've been lucky enough to get the call for the one to one intervews. Got the call last friday about half 6 or so but had a bad reception on the phone so could vaguely hear for when they are i think he said for this thursday or friday. But he said he would send me an e-mail with all the details which i havent received yet. Has anybody else who received the call got the confirmation e-mail yet?

Yes I got the email and you have to reply to that email for confirmation you are attending. Don't worry they will send it!!
