Does 2006 VW POLO 1.2 have Door Ajar or Door Open Indicator?

    Hi, guys,

    just wondering about Door Ajar or Door Open Indicator of VW Polo. i have got a VW polo 1.2 from garage two weeks ago. it is working well. but the only issue bother me a lot is that i have not seen Door Ajar or Door Open Indicator door_ajar_warning_indicator.gifon dashboard. even i left the door open,nothing pops up on dashboard,that is why i am just wondering whether this model of car has Door Ajar or Door Open Indicator and Windshield Washer Fluid Low Indicator low_windshield_washer_fluid.gif?

    There is a little micro switch in door catch that fails on these. Car doesn't know that you have opened the door. I'm not sure if there is a light in dashboard but it should give audible warning when you leave your lights on and open drivers door. Also, if the switch has failed, you won't be able to open your tailgate from outside even after unlocking the car and opening drivers door (opening passengers door cures it). Does the interior light come on after you open drivers door when car is running?

    hey, analfabets, that function works perfectly. sorry, i did not make the question clearly. i would like to know whether there is a door symbol on dashboard or not.

    as every time i open the door or just leave door open (or the door has not been closed properly in some case), i think that there should be a door open lights on, but i can not see anything comes up on dashboard.

    i drove an absolute baseline 06 polo (so if it has it every other model does) for a bit and im pretty sure it had the door open indicator. dont think there is a low washer fluid one though.
    edit - only warning noise is for leaving the lights on... when engine is off, (keys out?) and drivers door opened
    on second or third thought it may just have been an open boot indicator.... i dont think im being much help now...

    just tried it again, when the back boot door is open, there is symbol light for it on dashboard. but when i open the driver side door/passager's door or both, nothing comes up on dashboard. is it wired?

    when i switch the ignition, warning lamps are on. could you tell me any warning lamps are missing from the picture below,please?

    My vote goes for micro switch in drivers door.
    All the lights are explained in owners manual.

    i did go through the whole manual. and it does mention this function on manual. but there are small prints at bottom of page "applied to certain models". that is why i am not sure about it. if i try to call the garage.i think 90% chance they will tell me "it does not apply to my model". just want to be sure before i make a call to them.:confused:
