Battin' for the other side Clique..

I used to be a rocker years ago, or thought I was a rocker should say, but as you get older you forget about these sorta things. Until it's brought up (like here) and you can't place yourself anywhere, then you feel old and uncool.

    Badtimes.

Hmmm maybe, or you might have just lost all your mates after college?

Nope, still friends with all the Jocks, geeks stoners, wasters etc. and made many new friends since then, whom I wouldnt feel the need to put them into a genre before I'd consider them to be a friend.

I'm a 35 year old man. I'd look like a bit of an idiot if I described myself as any of those things you mentioned. I'm just me.

Are you sure all of those things you named can be described as cliques? Druggies? Scientists?

What about council workers, plumbers and prostitutes?

i used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was, now what im with isnt it, and what is 'it' seems strange and unusual...

    Or something.

Also: im an individual, just like everyone else

    Not Your Ornery Onager

In a Kebab, against Bertie. It's a long, hard uphill battle, but we are close to victory. The Smoke and Daggers gang hate us, but their membership has been decimated by felo da se - which is ironic, really.

    Not your ornery onager

Stoner/Rocker in my younger days, which morfed into a trad playing, wandering piss head and now am (to my neighbours), the slightly odd, probabaly on drugs, fella living on the old Murphy homestead with all the dogs. :)

I much prefer my own company. I can't stand cliques.

I think that when it comes down to it everybody is part of one clique or another, whether they want to admit it or not. There are a lot of cliques in Dublin, the D4s, knackers, hipsters, goths, druggies, god freaks, culchies, nerds, smellies, slackers, dandies, jocks, wasters, skaters, punks, scientists, boy racers etc being some I have seen.

    Which group are you?

    D4: What is this?
Knackers: ... umm pretty sure, no... ?
    Hipsters: ... ?
    Goths: No.
    Druggies: No.
    God freaks: No.
    Culchies: What is this ...!?
    Nerds: No.
    Smellies: ....?
    Slackers: No.
    Dandies: Never heard of this?
    Jocks: Can't do sports.
    Wasters: No.
    Skaters: No.
    Punk: No.
    Scientists: No.
    Boy racers: ... no....

I don't fit in anywhere (or know what all of them mean)!!!!! :(

I dont think people are confident enough in themselves to go out there on there own and not be part of a group of some sort..

Wrong! I don't do cliques and never have. What's so hard about being yourself? Fúck it's even easy.

I like getting hammered, pussy, sport, heavy metal and gambling. I would say I'm in the traditional mans man clique. A bit of a "geezer".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 110 ✭✭MeganM

I really do hate labelling myself, but I believe I have the social skills and mannerisms of a nerd, the delicious music taste of a hipster and there's probably some loner in there too. :D

I've never done the clique thing really, it's the main reason that I have no friends

OP, do you think if I stop bathing or start taking drugs that I'll make loads of instant friends?

    As a teenager I would have been a rocker/skater/stoner.

But now... Now I don't fit anywhere :(

I'm in a clique, but I can't tell you about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,254 ✭✭✭Thatnastyboy

    I would be:

    culchie/rough/nerdy/stoner/conman/asshole,

So i suppose a dandy would be a fitting clique.
